Hi all [Question on FOOD and Behaviour]

Hi guys,
I am a new member to this forum. I hope there will be a healthy debate on various topics here.

Let me start by asking all a simple question, Do you think our behaviour is affected by what we eat? [is there any research to prove this]. Do you think Violence is related to our food habits?

I found some articles online [research by various doctors and psychologists] and it made me think about this question. I hope to hear from all who are willing to give a thought about this question. I have lot more questions to ask but i will start with this one.
Looking forward to hear intelligent replies from all.

Have you ever skipped too many meals, and found yourself really low on energy, slightly sick, and moody? I have, far too many times (sometimes it sucks being a college student). In terms of what we DON'T eat, food can certainly affect behavior.

I've also found--again from personal experience--that things that I DO eat can affect my behavior to a limited degree. But it is because of the effect it has on my body; for example, caffeine has an odd effect upon me. I get jittery (not alert, just jittery) for about 5 minutes, and then I crash. I become EXTREMELY tired. As a result, I tend not to want to do anything and I become grumpy. Too much sugar or milk can have the same effect upon me; I don't feel well, so I don't behave normally.

Other than that, however, I haven't seen any direct coorelation between what I eat and my behavior.

Nice reply from you. It does makes sense. Let me take it a step further and ask you one question. Do you think eating meat affects our behaviour in any way. Because, i was born in a meat eating family and brought up with eating meat all the time. At the age of 21 i suddenly started not liking meat and used to eat meat very occassianlly. Today, i stopped eating meat totally and am a vegetarian. I see lot of changes in me, In terms of high energy levels and lot more benefits i am enjoying now. I never felt so good in my life [in terms of health benefits] in the past [my meat eating days]. Is this because i stopped eating meat totally? Let me know your thoughts.
