Hello,
I just figured a quick introduction would be nice, as I will probably be answering a lot of questions on here haha. I have been studying religion and philosophy for a very long time. My whole life, if you consider my studying of Judaism being raised in a conservative Jewish family. While I have a decent understanding of many religions, I am most knowledgeable on occult religions, including Satanism in all its forms, Luciferianism, Thelema, etc.

I am an ex LaVeyan Satanist, and was one for about a year and a half. I am a Luciferian and have been for about 3 or 4 years. I should make it clear that I do not like being considered a Satanist, and I see Luciferianism and Satanism as two very separate beliefs.

I always try to be as respectful as possible, but you get back what you put in. I am also considered a very open minded person, and while I will never preach or try to convert, I will not water down my beliefs when explaining how they are different than yours. If you want me to, I do not see what the point is in that.

Finally, I ask you do not assume anything about my beliefs. I talk from multiple view points, trying to get an overall overlook at things and not just my beliefs. If you have a question about what I personally believe on a subject, simply ask me.

I look forward to any discussions we may have :)

Yes, I do believe in magick, but I believe it to be a practice deeply rooted in human psychology, based off of self made ritual, symbolism and associations to symbols, etc. I do not think magick is anything supernatural. Because of this, I also do not believe in black magick, white magick, or anything similar. Since you can only affect your own mind, how can it be evil?

I have a panendeistic view of god, which means that I think everything natural is a part of god, but god is also greater than what we can even understand. I do not think god intervenes with us, and I believe god is more balanced than being simply "all-loving". Connection with god is up to us, not up to god.

I have a complicated belief in reincarnation and also enlightenment, but not necessarily an afterlife. I believe we are currently in one part of our spiritual journey, and the goal is to move to the next.

What lead me to the Left Hand Path, honestly, was a misplaced sense of rebellion and being cool back in high school haha. I went to a rich school and wanted to really make those kids hate me. I started out as a LaVeyan Satanist, but it actually led to a true interest in occultism and religion in general. I have studied religion since I was 16, and as I matured in my beliefs, I found that they still fit in the LHP, but at a much deeper and less adolescent level. I am just glad I can look back on those Laveyan Satanists days and laugh, but also know that every step I took helped me find my path.

Like which hand I use more? haha, I am right handed. There is nothing against being an atheist and practicing magick. An atheist simply lacks belief in any gods and nothing more. This idea that seems to be huge about atheists being against everything spiritually related is silly to me. I am glad you do not buy into it :)

ohh im well aware of that. Thank you. The real head scratchier is... but i waged and epic battle against an evil admin witch on a pagan forum so they made me a god. but im an atheist so its a contradiction....but my main god attribute deals with overcoming contradictions and perception alteration. thats the fun part.

i really believe in the power of attention and of the powers of belief and perception

Damn hard and soft atheism.

do you think magic, magick, and magik all have different meanings and connotations?

I definitely agree that the power of belief in perception is great. But I also believe action and being actively involved in those beliefs is important too, i.e. magick > prayer.

Since magick is a psychological thing, the way a person spells it is almost a part of magick itself. However, I personally do believe them to have different meanings. Magic is stage magic and illusion, such as card tricks, sawing people in half, etc. Magick is what we have been talking about here: causing psychological change through ritual and ceremony. As for magik, I would simply consider it a misspelling haha.

Many people do not believe in magic too..But it do exist..it's nothing more than harmful teaching..the teaching that can only be learned for bad purpose..

I have repeat this again and again..but it's true that many westerners don't realize the existence of it..

Anyway, welcome to RF.

You are saying that magick is evil, and only used for bad purposes? Do you have a reason for believing such?

That's what I thought too. Maybe more like the African idea of magick. I don't even pretend to understand that, but I will admit people are capable of insane things I cannot explain. Especially like shamans and such. I don't think that is evil either though, because I do not believe a shaman works with demons, which many Christians and the like might think.

I would not want to narrow it down so much. Just state he is talking about a super natural magick...ie has a supernatural source. and were talking about psychology magic or whatever.... physical source the human mind.

The source would be from something evil. and using magic helps in the evils schemes magicians though maybe unwitting a pawn for that evil.

some say magic opens a door way for both good and bad...guess which one swarms ?

lucky for us we need no aether.

Why does the source of 'supernatural' magick have to have an evil source? If there are evil forces out there, surely there is good also. Everything in the universe is balanced. Calling such magick 'supernatural' makes people have a harder time understanding it. Anything that can happen or exist is natural, from thinking to any god that may exist. All are natural.

'good sources' of 'supernatural' magic are miracles and divine gifts? Spells do not come from miracles or divine gifts but some other source....?this source is evil? idk
just supposition on another belief.

I don't think so. Even energy used in 'supernatural' magick is simply natural. As seen from birth, nature can have good energy. As seen from hurricanes, nature can have 'evil' energy. However, it is all really neutral. So, people can use these natural energies however they choose. Can they use it for bad? Sure, I suppose. But I feel that would take an extreme amount of skill that many could not manage to control.

Hey, welcome to the forum :)

Thank you :)

I do have my reasons. Reality is the best reasons. It's part of reality of my life, your life and everyone's life.

It happen in my community. That's the best reason that I can tell you. Hard to believe isn't it?
