There is a hypothesis that the universe began from nothing in a true vacuum bubble when 2 particles popped into existence and collided (the maths was well beyond me).
If it can occur in a true vacuum bubble then why not in a false vacuum bubble?
After all there is more energy in a false vacuum bubble than a true vacuum bubble. This energy could be what is making the universe what it is and are we still within this false vacuum bubble?
If so it is unstable and of a higher energy state than a true vacuum. If the false bubble decays to a true vacuum then the energy the universe needs to exist will poof to close on zero.
An instant and painless way for life to end i think.
