Hindu Mother Can't See Her Child Because She's An Infidel

I took away this as a key point in the article:

Police have been unwilling to enforce the civil court's decision.

The civil court ruled in her favor. People in many countries are afraid to even legally pursue Muslims in areas of Muslim majority. I'm not an expert on Malaysia, but it seems that if the people want a free country they will have to stand up for civil law and fight battles.

I had seen this story earlier, P, and I still have the same question: "Why would she marry a Muslim?"

50 years of Islamisation ... 50 years of Malaysian Islamisation « Malaysian Indians Today
Completely frightening! I posted this topic in the Feminists Only section, hoping to acquire views from RF's feminist members, but the prospects of that seem to be low now since I was strawmanned by a Muslim rigorist on matters that didn't even pertain to the OP. Progressive changes within socio-religious communities arise from a deep scanning of what plagues them, all the while being open to ideas and findings that shake their very religious, preconceived notions. Unfortunately, I don't see Malaysia, let alone countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh, wherein Hindus are ill-treated and demonized by their governments, following suit. And to think that these three countries were once powerhouses of Dharmic innovation and creativity, utterly mind-boggling.

Yes I saw that. But things on the ground are going rather slowly there for the Islamisation process, from what I hear from the people I know. Thai Pusam still gets a million people going to Batu Caves, and there have been other small victories. My gut says Islamisation is purposefully going as slow (or as fast) as it can without drawing undue attention.

But who know really? I'd travel there but cautiously. Nothing near like Bangladesh or Pakistan.

I was in Malaysia once, after going to Singapore. Singapore has some nice Hindus but I am not big on shopping too much unless it is cottage industry. So I went to Malaysia, but I cannot recall if it was Kuala Lampur or where, it was some one day only deal to visit a mosque.

I loved the mosque, but to be frank I felt like most didn't like me and a few hated me. This was way before 911.

I don't recall the name of the mosque but it was a famous one.

Probably Hindus have a hard time in some areas.

Is any minority truly safe in any hypothetical Islamic state that exists at any point in time? It's in the nature and fibre of Islam to persecute non believers.

It does seem that way. Intimidation seems to be the name of the game.
Also concerned to read this in the OP article:
Critics accuse the ethnic Malay Muslim-dominated government of doing too little to resolve problems when those legal systems collide. The government has become increasingly reliant on support from Islamist and right-wing pressure groups as other constituencies flock to the opposition.

I can't believe they can convert small children to Islam. It's not like the kid is consenting to it. It's a forced conversion!
