Holidays?

I just recently became a Satanist this year. Since the holiday season is coming up and all, I just was wondering what holiday(s) other Satanists celebrate in the December time. I was thinking of just celebrating Christmas without the Christ part and calling it Xmas or something similar. What do you guys celebrate, or do you just not celebrate anything at all?

Taking the Christ out of Christmas and replacing it with an X does not change the meaning of the holiday. The X in Xmas, represents the Greek letter 'x' (chi). It is pronounced with with an aspirated [kh], which is the first letter of Christ's name in Greek. However, because an uppercase x has the same shape as a Latin alphabet letter X, many people who do not know the history assume that this abbreviation is meant to 'take Christ out of Christmas' but are actually still refereing to Christmas.

It really just depends on who's writing it...

As for holidays, celebrate whatever you want. There really aren't any Satanic holidays other than your birthday and Walpurgisnacht (sp?).

Why are you here?

This is a Satanism DIR, secondly taking the Christ out of Mas doesn't refer to anything, since the original Xmas was actually a pagan holidy that the Christians stole after they got done killing, raping, and pillaging the Norse society.

Christmas has little to do with Jesus, as Jesus wasn't even born on that day, as the original myth lies within Black Pete and the Pagan foundations, so yea, your welcome for your Hallmark holiday.
