What a load of bull****.

The Dixiecrats who switched to Republicans , how many now ? Around three people?
Are you that ignorant of history? The Republicans went after the Wallace voters after Goldwater had his donkey handed to him. Weren't you aware of that? Look at the voting histories of the parties. Before they shed the Dixiecrats they were more against civil rights than for them. After they got rid of them the party has supported almost all civil rights. Look at the Republicans. Before Goldwater they were the party that supported civil rights. The last time that the Republicans were more for civil rights than Democrats was the 1964 Civil Rights Act. After that their support evaporated.

Most of those voters would be dead now, but the group did become part of the Republican party and their influence is still felt today.

To elaborate, I found his support for
Israel & Jews to be highly unusual
for a Holocaust denier. So to paint
him with that narrow brush is to
mislead about the breadth of
his beliefs.
I agree that it's unusual but don't think it's misleading or formally contradictory in any way, whilst it may be surprising.
Many holocaust deniers and white supremacists use formal statements of support for Israel to disguise their antisemitism.

Party labels don't really tell us the whole story, do they?
Conservative media likes to pull this trick on their audience all the time. You'll never hear conservative media mention "conservative or progressive" when referring to southern Democrats. They'll just say "Democrats were the party of the KKK, etc." (intentionally leaving out the context).
The average conservative media consumer is ignorant of American history and just assumes Democrat = progressive/liberal

In my view that kind of misinformation and the way it is swallowed is just shocking to me
