Holy Water

No. However, it's generally considered reverent and proper to use a container that's set aside for that purpose. Select a small bottle suitable for the purpose, take it to church and fill it up. Ask the priest; they may prefer to fill your bottle from a supply in the vestry, or to fill it with tap water and bless it, rather than dipping what you want out of the font. The bottle should not thereafter be used for another purpose. But if you do fill up your Boy Scout canteen with holy water and take it home and dump it in something else, it's still holy water.

Thank you.

Another question: does putting unblessed water in a blessed container contaminate the blessing of the container?

For instance, after my holy water is gone, I re-fill the bottle with tap water and bring it back to the priest to bless.

I don't know. But it will soon be filled with holy water again anyway, right? :)

I don't think so. I told my priest I was going to store holy water in an empty bottle of soda and he didn't say anything about it. I would assume that if it was going to lose its blessing he would have told me so.
