Homo sexuality

To be blunt, why do people have such a problem with homo sexuality. I know reasons like bible, not natural, not what jesus wants, but why is sexuality in the hands or religion? Why does religion dictate who you can love and who you cant. I currently have a girlfriend and dont think i am gay, but im not going to say for sure. But if i were gay, i would just like to have the same rights as every one else in this country and in the world. So to wrap it up, why do YOU have a problem with it, or why are you with me, thanks guys.
