What kind of person are you?
What kind of person am I? For one thing, I don't expect him to ever be a better person than an unrepentant, psychopathic, white supremacist. And it doesn't matter if he ever changes, since he'll not see the light of day again. But how much do I want him to suffer? I also don't care about that - just that he's off the streets. More damaged American goods.
But I'm pretty numb to America's gun problems by now. I feel empathy for decent people trapped in that world, but they won't be getting any relief any time soon, and they'll simply have to accept one or two mass shootings a day indefinitely or leave America for a safer life if that's an option. The reasons to do that keep accumulating, especially if you're relatively young and can live in a Western socialist democracy other than the States, where you'll earn cradle to grave benefits for your labor, and can expect democracy to be more stable and people to be more humane.
Also, their governments don't appear to be paralyzed like the Americans. You see people on the news every evening asking how many must die before something is done. A lot more. Why? Because the people who care are disempowered and the people with power don't care who dies, and much of the voting public is in support of the status quo. They want unfettered access to weapons and don't care what happens to others. You asked what kind of a person I am. Not that kind.
I saw both Biden and Michigan governor Whitmer pleading for relief on last night's news. A president and a governor, both stymied. They are way outmatched.
