I'm not subscribing to the Washington Post to view the article, nor would I trust a news article as scientific evidence.

Do you have have any studies that confirm this claim? I can't find anything on a cursory Google search.

The article is more about ways to curb the environmental impact of transporting plants long distances and using plastic pots and so on. The OP didn't say any of that, of course. :rolleyes:

I did say "certain" houseplants, and "house plants potted from distant areas".

So whatshu talkin' bout, Mr. Rolly-eyes.!?!

Flying things halfway round the world to sit in your window box is probably not helpful. I doubt anyone would suffer for it if we stopped doing this.
