The likely answer is that she doesn't even know the difference between a Sikh and a Muslim.

I thought he handled the incident well.

His explanation after the fact also made me question my approach to these sorts of events.

I remember just after 9/11, someone tried to burn down a Hindu man die near me. At the time, I took the tack that Singh criticized now: I made fun of the arsonist for being an idiot who couldn't tell the difference between Hinduism and Islam. In retrospect, maybe I should have not taken that approach and instead emphasized that setting fire to houses of worship is wrong, regardless of the religion.

I do numerous Brampton Ontario runs and many Sikhs I find are an upstanding and friendly group of people.

First, let's remember that he is running for the head of the NDP (New Democratic Party), a party that is seen as the socialist party in socialist Canada, so he's nothing but a granola eating tree hugging dolphin loving Woodie Guthrie listening to hippie in the first place. Second, why is everyone assuming that the reason he didn't say "I'm not Muslim" isn't love, but maybe that he doesn't know the difference either? The woman in the audience was obviously not that bright, why do we assume he's a genius? And finally, he's Canadian. Canadians aren't peaceful. Canadians are violent loons. Look:

And that's how we teach our kids to have fun! So, in conclusion, I feel the charges aren't warranted and I should be released, Your Honour.
