How bad is the anti-trans movement going to get?

How about this: the party of small government and personal liberty has taken upon itself the choice of treatment for gender dysphoria, including the dosage, and directing the care of the sufferer by the sufferer's medical care team.

Also, the right to play on any sports team is tied to gender-assigned-at-birth, regardless of any other consideration. It is unclear if this is fair or not. Certainly, in Middleweight UFC, no person outside the range of 171 to 185 pounds may compete and win a title. However, any competitor who can manage to shed weight, by whatever means available to them, may so compete. However, a competitor not born female, whether having shed both female body parts and hormonal characteristics, may still not compete against females who were born so. I don't know whether this is fair or not, but the legislatures of the state(s) in question have taken it upon themselves to make that determination.
IOW....the party (that claims) to be about small
government & liberty reserves that for themselves,
& wants to regulate everyone else.

In at least a few areas, this seems to be quite true. The rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness only apply if you conform to certain criteria. They will (I think I can guarantee it now) get to homosexuality, same-sex marriage, contraception and so on soon, and codify the rules about sexual intercourse between consenting adults -- who may do what with whom, and what outcomes they might seek to prevent while enjoying it.

You might soon have the freedom of missionary position....& nothing else.

Are the politicians in mass creating laws and living conditions in which they have been made keenly aware of how much it will increase the suicide and hate crime rate against trans folk? And yet they do it anyway.
I don't think they are aware in the slightest. Afterall, this is just one of many areas where they truly believe they know better than the experts, as this group does generally hold negative views of "eggheads" (academics, philosophers and other intellectual types), with a lomg tradition of favoring conventional and traditional wisdom over learned knowledge, which they often view as unpracticle, overly complicated and useless in day-to-day life (and to the farmers of the day this mentality this grew from, there is some truth in that). Afterall, they believe it is suitable and appropriate to wait until adulthood despite the statements from the medical community at large.
Yes, they are the victims of Christian Nationalism due to the fascist nature Republican Party's core. It is due to desire to out everyone who isn't like them in their place and make things "great" again like that. But we aren't even being subjected to electric shock therapy, lobotomized or force sterilized in the past. And today some of
these bills are being challenged in court.
Yes, I havea hard time veiwing this as genocide when those who can flee don't even have to sneak out.

Familiarity can fight such bigotry.
It did make Cheney an early US political supporter of gay marriage. Not always, but that he was way before it became a default for Dems (including Obama).
Kind of like the Episcopalian priest who got me out of my deep hatred of all of things Christian. His wife worked at the neo-Pagan/Native American store (the owner is of a tribe from Arizona) (it also had a strong community around it), and a lot of homosexuals shopped and hung out their and the priest got to know them and one Sunday, long before "affirming church" became a phrase, he announced homosexuals are now welcomed in his church, and lost a chunk of his congregation over it.

The Text to a long boring document

Missouri actively has an AG order with new guidelines that state that depression, autism and anxiety need to be resolved before gender affirming care for adults can be reached. However the rates for these in trans adults are astronomically higher than the average population. It also requires them to go through years of a new process in which they need to start *now* and will have to detransition for in the time being. It is being litigated in the courts right now and they have some time to "comply". Texas and Florida both are enacting similar decrees however they are not yet enacted. Missouri also has a Texas abortion style hotline for anyone who might be a "secret trans" that can be reported. Thankfully I believe it is down currently since it was inundated with fake calls from activists.

Tenn of see has an interesting one
Short and sweet. Says cross dressing in public is illegal. Words on paper would indicate that it would have to be provocative or professionally done in some way but what is determined to be a "male or female impersonator" is purely speculative by the enforcer of the law in that moment and opens the door to harassments and legal action against any trans person in a public place presenting as their gender.

I can hear it now about how these laws don't say "being trans is illegal" in the black and white. And you are correct. But both of these states have blanket legislation that in any particular case of transgender expression these laws could be used against them. They are far reaching enough that they could hit any trans person that isn't safely hiding in the closet if they wanted. Not that they are actively pressing down the head of every single trans person (though almost in Missouri and Florida they are getting there).
Hmm, are they concerned about us females wearing pants and having short hair? No one questions those things, but a guy wearing a dress is a big deal. Americans are so weird sometimes.

The point is that you could not do it, even if you did want to.

The words “stop black people from voting” are not in there, but that was the intent and the effect.
I don't even recall what you were going on about.
Many posters are alerting me. If you want to discuss
anything, ya gotta be more interesting than cryptic.
