How can others benefit from our actions? (tittle edited)

Spirit of Light

Be who ever you want
How can we make our neighbours, friends, family, relatives benefit from our own action or words without thinking there is a reward in the end? What does it take to become an selfless helper to other people?

First the people should want to benefit from your actions, you can't make them and should not impose.

Other than that just be open, honest and friendly.

Forced help is as you say, not selfless help :)
to be there for others may be that whenever they ask, there is not a no that they get in return :)

Make lots of money and share the wealth.

Of course, there is friendship, praise. I guess camaraderie. Feel-good stuff but money I find is pretty good at making people feel good. Supports the material wealth need. :D

And of course, don't ask for anything in return.

When a person has no money or very little money them self, how do you see them helping others selflessly? :)

You can clean my house...

Just kidding. :) (Well, unless you really want to...)

Don't think so much about it. Just be the best you that you can be. Being around a genuine caring person tends to rub off on others... get the cycle started the best you can.

You really won't have to do anything.
If i come to your neighbourhood one day, i be glad to help you with the housework for a weekend ;)

True :) Unfortenatly there are people who help others than they speak about how good they are them selvs, then it is not so much selfless :)

And all the others that go out there and act selflessly, you never hear about. (because they don't tell everyone) Volunteerism is alive and well, thank goodness. At the Hindu temple I go to, the Hundi (anonymous donation box) provides about half the temple's entire income.

So true, because a selfless person has no wish for publicity

Those who are rid of their lower ego (nafs in Islamic Sufism) automatically benefit others. It's not a matter of "making them benefit" but baraka, divine light, which flows without conscious effort. .

You are correct on that about Sufism yes. Actually when thinking about it, any religious/spiritual person will be to a benefit to others when their ego is less and they see their true nature within.

Why would we make anyone do anything?
