How do you differ in real life from your RF persona?

Though I'm new here, I'm not new to forums, and I'm very much the same as I am in person.

I know the anonymity of the internet can sometimes encourage a more "spirited" response, so I make it a habit to never type anything I wouldn't say to someone's face. :)

I think I am much nicer in person. I don't argue much. I am somewhat quiet and I am told that I am funny. I am a talker not a writer so I think I am seen as more intelligent in real life. One of the reason I am on RF is just to write more. I basically had a job for 20 years that I did not need write more the two sentence's a day. I had a assistant that did it all for me. So in this area of my life (it was never a strong point) I have gotten very lazy. So for me RF is all about self improvement.

You're nicer?? WY, nice is definitely a word that comes to mind when I think of you. You must be the nicest person in the world!

I'm not really too much different here than I am in real life. What's different is the circumstances in which am properly able to discuss things. I came to RF for debating and discussions, and I love it because I can do so.

IRL I don't get the chance to discuss religion or politics or whatever especially not in-depth, with friends & family, mostly because all people where I live seem to want to talk about nowadays is crap no-one really cares about - like Katie & Peter, X-Factor and some other rubbish ^_^

Of course, people still think I'm gay IRL so I guess there's really not much difference in terms of how I am viewed LOL!

So I don't really have a "persona" on RF, instead I simply get the chance to discuss and debate topics with people which normally wouldn't be applicable IRL. Everyone here (IRL) doesn't want to talk about politics or religion, it appears Tiger Woods is more important.

IRL I have been told that I come off as quite intimidating, which always puzzles me. But I have my fun with it more often here than I do off the 'net.

I am short....really short. Most people can't believe how tiny I am until I stand right next to them. If they meet me after a show, again, I come off as much much bigger than my physical self. LOL ....It's fun seeing the reaction.

I am a fiercely loving and loyal wife and mother. As much of an insufferable flirt that I am, my husband and my kids are a huuuuugggge part of my life. Every day, I'm stealing all kinds if hugs and kisses from all of them, and when Steve gets home from work, if I'm home too, he's jumped when he walks in. The kids follow suit too, and hence we all practically suffocate him. :D

When it comes to my flirting, I do that pretty much the same in real life. Mr. Introvert husband at first didn't know what to think....he never met a woman who is so forward like me.....but he eventually understood that I am very very very vocal about what I like, and especially with him.

I'm FAR more sarcastic in real life. Online I may get the urge to post something sarcastic, but it usually passes and I just cancel the post. In real life, if somebody says something stupid, my head actually throbs with the urge to make a sarcastic comment. I really have to bite my tongue sometimes.
Other than that, I'm pretty similar. I guess my sick sense of humour gets more of a free reign in real life (I like to shock people) but that's only due to forum rules :D

I wouldn't be surprised if many of us experience that.

These topics require diplomacy if you don't want to hurt feelings or make enemies. Most people aren't very diplomatic, which is why the topics of religion and politics are avoided like the plague.

In RL, I've found that if I don't tell people I'm an atheist, they tend to assume I'm some sort of Protestant.

That's funny, many people assume, based purely on looks, that I am into the metaphysical.
Funny that, from first glance, I thought this guy must be a baker, that brews his own beer, and lives in the western part of the united states.

Funny thing, those first impressions

Whaaaaaa? Why do you think they get that impression? Cuz you're a sweet looking White dude? :p
That or the minivan.

I'm tempted to get a "you can be good without God" bumper sticker, but I'd worry about it being an invitation to vandalism on road trips to the US.

Lol! I once had two employees assume I was extremely religious because I'm soft spoken and polite.

I've had the same happen to me on numerous occasions.

Anyway, the IRL me has been referred to by others as shy, quiet, polite and sweet. I guess for me RF serves as an outlet for thoughts and feelings I'm too reserved to express IRL. Anonymity is handy like that.

In real life I am 20% more awesome.

I also love to debate, so in real life I often take a stand against my own thoughts just to get a debate starting. Here I can use my own thoughts to get debates started :p

My reallife name is not BucephalusBB.

In real life, I've spent the last few weeks doing renovations to our new house with my wife to prepare for our move by the end of this month. In RF, I've spend the last few weeks making sarcastic comments, pithy witticisms, and corny jokes.

In real life, I generally spend a lot of time writing music, taking photographs, painting, writing fiction/lyrics, and other creative endeavors. In RF, I generally spend a lot of time making sarcastic comments, pithy witticisms, and corny jokes.

In real life, I rarely talk about religion or politics, other than with my wife. I generally tend to talk about music, travel, experiences, relationships, movies, books, and interesting ideas with friends. In RF, I often talk about religion and politics, but not with my wife. Also, I generally tend to make sarcastic comments, pithy witticisms, and corny jokes.
