How do you receive flirting?

Hey guys, how's it going?

So, how do you receive flirting?

Let's say you're a man/woman getting, for example, "hey sugar/baby/beautiful/handsome" from another man/woman, or the other way around. How would you feel about it?

As for me, I'd accept it at any weight from women even if it gets too heavy, but from another man it depends on my relationship with him and their nature, but in much less weight that from women.

How about it, lovely RF members ;)

It depends on a number of factors. The delivery is just as important if not more so than what is said.
For example, a corny pickup line might be scoffed at. But if delivered in a sort of funny mocking kind of way, you might be more inclined to respond positively.
A sleazy line is a turn off. But told in a way that is very sort of tongue cheek, it might be viewed in a more positive light.
Very aggressive flirtation might be scary.

I think people need to sort of know body language to know when to flirt and when to just give up (if one is able to of course.)

Cool!

How about moderate compliments by someone you know saying it in public, like "hey beautiful, I missed you"? Is that acceptable by the public opinion where you live, and is that considered flirting in the first place?

I'm collecting information about people and other cultures and this time it happens to be about flirting. May be it could prove useful if I visit different cultures sometime. I have problems socializing with people in real life.

I look around the room to see whom it is being addressed to,

Knowing full well that my disfigured face after my head injury could in
no way elicit attraction

Well "I missed you" would imply a relationship of some kind.

I usually get "G'day love" or "Hey babe" or "hello sweetheart" usually by the older generation. They're just friendly greetings. *shrugs*

Attraction has many causes. Don't be hard on yourself :)

I treated it with immediate suspicion. I almost never get flirted with.

Ah... front or rear suspension?

Ehm... you speak as if I always do get flirted with :p

Let's say the "I missed you, beautiful" comes from an online friend in a chat room. Or if online friends meet each other for the first time and one tells the other "you're more beautiful than I expected. Do you think that is okay?

You think friendly greetings using flirting lines are considered just greeting and not treated as flirting?

Well yeah I do.

Again depends on the context. In Australia, I think a lot like Britain, the vernacular meaning of "love" or "sweetheart" usually renders those terms fairly innocuous. And like I said, are often especially used by the older generation both males and females towards young people as just a friendly and polite greeting.
In say America, using the world love or sweetheart in a greeting might be viewed as flirting. Because you don't have the same connotations from that culture.

People use sweety, honey, dear the same way here in the U.S. depending on the area/subculture. Usually women do it more so than men.

If a man flirts with me i block them right away. Or tell them that iam not part of Gayworld.
If a woman flirts with me, i unleash the predator inside me.

Once this woman flirted with me at a place. I though she wanted me. She even touched my hand. Then finally before ending the convo i asked her number, it turns out she is already married but forget her ring at home.
Sometimes we may think the person likes us, flirts with us but thats not the case always.

I enjoy it. The more I find the person attractive the more I enjoy it. I also return it ( a lot less so with guys) and the more I find the person attractive the more I would return it. I'm married now and have been with my wife almost 6 years, so I can't even remember the last time I was flirted with or what I would do now.

Ahh that's interesting. I went to California last year and a random lady was quite appalled that I said "G'day love" to her lol.

location also matters. IE at the bar or college campus are different then just say at the super market or street.

also love is a strong word.

theres also elements of being sexist or perceived that way now.

Oh, well does it matter that I am a female who said it to another woman?

Tbh, I just spoke some random Hindi and pretended that that was a phrase I learned from TV. And she left me alone haha.

Some times men call me gamar (moon). When they do that, I call them back asal (honey). It happens as a compliment not flirt between men here. Woman never flirt with men here unless sometimes if they are family. Well, this is Saudi Arabia after all :)

Married woman? The experience could help :D

I honestly dunno what I'd do if a woman flirts with me. Maybe I'd just run away in fear.

As much as I'm scared of women, I'd like one to flirt with me one day :D

Calling stranger Luv, Dear, ducks is just the same as calling them Mister. It means nothing more than that they do not know your name. and is is more friendly than saying Hey you....
