Do we now have automated email access? To add to the above, it was also impossible to maintain the old software because it had become too outdated. This led to server and forum lag. It also meant there was no way to effectively combat spambot registrations, which caused RF to be flooded with spambot registrations and made the forum lose access to the automated email service it used for email verification. A forum of this nature needs new registrations to thrive, but for months, we barely had any and had to manually validate accounts when registrants contacted us via the "Contact Us" feature to verify them.
The forum is still undergoing updates, so while the frustration with the amount of change is understandable, please note that what you see now is far from permanent or finalized. Things should gradually resemble the older version more as more features are added or reinstated.
Where is the home tab..? Not that I ever used the homepage with the featured threads but it seems to have gone.
Thank you!At the bottom of the page change the style from ReligiousForums.com - UI.X to default. It alters all colours to be more readable
Using the default screen style does that
Looks like all you have to do is hit the 'like' button again.I have another Question:
Let’s say a member puts a “like” — or other — rating on a post they didn’t mean to. How can they undo it?
Looks like all you have to do is hit the 'like' button again.
It would if I was in charge. That works. I just tested it a few times.
How does it show up in the alerts? Does it say something like "______ doesn't like you anymore"?
Not sure what you mean, jbg.Do we now have automated email access?
Email notification of posts on watched threads. Not sure what you mean, jbg.
Ah, OK.Email notification of posts on watched threads.
I'd have preferred the forum was worked on in the background or rolled back after the bugs had been found. Unlike real construction work, there are a dozen options to do it without the users having to live in a work area.Because the old software was hopelessly outdated and falling to bits. The search feature was chronically broken, as was the option on one's profile to join the private fora, and many behind the scenes tools that mods use were broken. It wasn't workable. Unless you prefer a forum that has limited and broken functionality
I hope it's a work in progress because I'm like some oversight / clarity atm.I like it a lot myself
This is just the nature of a forum update.I'd have preferred the forum was worked on in the background or rolled back after the bugs had been found. Unlike real construction work, there are a dozen options to do it without the users having to live in a work area.
No. It is a common way but for it to be "the nature" there can't be an alternative way. It was a conscious decision to do it this way. (Or ignorance of other options.)This is just the nature of a forum update.
Ok, thanks. Looks like I didn’t do it hard enough, or maybe it just didn’t register. I’m a big guy….my fingers are bigger than most people’s, I guess.Looks like all you have to do is hit the 'like' button again.
