"FALSE" news has become a plague for humanity, spread rapidly by many means of communication, yet we have a Revelation from God calling us to implement honesty in reporting.
In the Tablet of Tarazat, Baha’u’llah states:
"In this day the mysteries of this earth are unfolded and visible before the eyes, and the pages of swiftly appearing newspapers are indeed the mirror of the world; they display the doings and actions of the different nations; they both illustrate them and cause them to be heard. Newspapers are as a mirror endowed with hearing, sight and speech; they are a wonderful phenomenon and a great matter...."
Baha’u’llah then also provides a warning:
"...But it behooves the writers and editors thereof to be sanctified from the prejudice of egotism and desire, and to be adorned with the ornament of equity and justice. They must inquire into matters as fully as possible in order that they may be informed of the real facts, and commit the same to writing. Concerning this wronged one, what the newspapers have published has for the most part been devoid of truth. Good speech and truthfulness are, in loftiness of position and rank, like the sun which has risen from the horizon of the heaven of knowledge.."
This is how I see God Word unfolds when a Message is given. As soon as a Messenger uttered the Word of God given to them, then that Word becomes the required standard for the Age it is given, it is the CAUSE of the NEW CREATION. The requirement for honest and truthful reporting became the standard we are then measured against.
"The Word of God is the king of words and its pervasive influence is incalculable. It hath ever dominated and will continue to dominate the realm of being. The Great Being saith: The Word is the master key for the whole world, inasmuch as through its potency the doors of the hearts of men, which in reality are the doors of heaven, are unlocked. No sooner had but a glimmer of its effulgent splendour shone forth upon the mirror of love than the blessed word 'I am the Best-Beloved' was reflected therein. It is an ocean inexhaustible in riches, comprehending all things. Every thing which can be perceived is but an emanation therefrom." Bahá’u’lláh, Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh, p. 173
Fake news is not sanctified from the prejudice of egotism and desire and is not an honest search for the real truth. Fake news is a destructive force, it is the decay of the morals of humanity.
So the error highlights the wisdom of the Word that has already been given to us. This is but one example.
All the Good we can Aspire to, has already been given to us to practice.
