How I deal with no afterlife

Only, that's not actually the question these types of people had originally set out to answer. They do, in fact, answer the question they set out to answer, which is "how can I maintain the illusion of the self-identity of a rational person while assuming irrational conclusions?"
As one of those 'types of people' which irrational conclusion have I assumed?

If I am special and have value as a human being, that creates a major conflict for me. This conflict would be that for such a special and valuable person as myself to just forever rot and decay away would be the greatest insult to my value and specialness as a human being.

We have quite of an ego, haven't we?

It would be utterly demeaning of my value and specialness. It would be just tossing me away like trash. So in order to resolve this conflict, I would have to deem myself as nothing special at all and of no value. However, if I am immortal and do get to live forever in heaven, then there would be no conflict.

i am not sure. i like to think that finite and terminating things have more value than eternal ones. For me, a beautiful flower from my husband has a lot of value, even if I am conscious that that flowers will end up in the trash bin. Like my husband and my kids. Eventually.

So, in short, if there is a heaven for me to live forever in, then I would deem myself as valuable and special since that conflict would not exist. But if there is no afterlife, then I would just view myself as a piece of **** who might as well just die anyway.

Well, that is what belief in afterlife in Heaven really is. A misfire caused by pathological self esteem.

Nonetheless, it would still be the greatest insult and demeaning of me to have me forever rot and decay away like that. It would be such a great insult that it would drive me to violence. The person is what is important here over life itself.

So it is the person being honored and respected by living forever in heaven that is important here. That is the most important thing. So if I do get to forever live on in heaven, then everything would be all good and I won't become violent since I as a human being have been honored and respected.

But if I don't and I will just forever rot and decay away like trash, then that would be disrespect towards me. It would be insulting and demeaning of me and that would drive me to violence.

It doesn't work that way. I would choose to believe in heaven right now, but I can't.

Well, since you seem to indicate that such a thought (no Heaven) can lead you to violence, I wonder whether we should call the police ;)

I am a narcissist sociopath which means the only thing that matters to me is me being happy, getting what I want, and living forever with no misery and no suffering in my life. It would be a life all meant for me to be happy and enjoy. I wouldn't have to worry about any problems at all if such a life were real.

How did you deal with your life before your were born ?.
It didn't matter back then since I was nonexistent. But now that I have come into existence, the idea of me no longer existing is horrible to me. It would be no different than if you never had a mother. Her not existing doesn't matter since she was never known. But for her to be known and loved, it would now become the worst thing for her to no longer exist anymore.

When you die which you will, then you wont know nothing, just as you knew nothing before you were born, when your dead that's it, the show is over, I advise you to live your life to ts fullness here and now and stop worrying about a stupid afterlife, it just ain't going to happen if you like it or not !.
