Didn't seem to be dealing with it too impressively yesterday...

(and they are about to disperse all around the country)

Yes, that was in the third link I provided.

Hence, it was a good plan of the Prime Minister, to start that early with Full Lock Down. Because people need to be made aware.
I think it almost impossible to control Corona Virus in India. Because their first concern is "what will I have for my next meal"

We, in the West have it much easier. We have a house, and have 3 meals a day, with in between snacks
In India, most don't have that luxury. So, there corona problem will be much more difficult to control

Maybe they have stronger immune system, otherwise millions might die, because all will get it, seeing these crowds
Not 1.5m apart, but 1.5cm apart from each other. This might become a big disaster. 250 million might die
At least here in Holland they say, that 70-80% won't die, the others better don't get it, else ...

I live somewhere not too different from India, in a metropolitan area of over to 30 million people, and the government response here hasn't exactly been robust or decisive.

The population density of certain areas is insane, and unless the tropical heat helps prevent the spread, it is a disaster waiting to happen, especially given the lack of quality healthcare.

Also given the number of people living in poverty, the potential for a prolonged disruption n the economy leading to civil unrest is quite high. When people who are barely surviving to start with suddenly see a significant drop in living standards, unrest often follows. Unless governments around the world manage to mitigate this effectively (and I wouldn't be holding my breath waiting for that to happen), it's something that could happen in many places.

India started with 5 infected per day. Now it's 100 per day. Soon it might be 100.000 per day.
The corona virus is killed at 56 Celsius, so I am not sure about outside temperature saving India

A friend of me stays in an Ashram in South India (very hot), but Ashram is in total lock down
Nobody gets in, when you go out, you never get back in again is their policy
That's a good example, how to deal with such a thing
And if they go too easy, like your pictures show, soon 100 million might die, I think

They expect a few hundred million of Indians to be infected next few month
I read that WHO made the remark that India's Lock Down was foolish
And that they should do a lot of testing; I don't think WHO will give free tests
So, such a remark I think is foolish

This is a good article. Seems reality, and it seems bad reality. No escape I think.
