How is music not a tool of Satan?

How is music not a tool of Satan?
Any chance that you might feel inclined to tell us why it would be such a thing?

You might want to consider that by expecting others to "prove you wrong" as opposed to presenting your case for consideration you may easily appear arrogant and therefore readily dismissable.

You know....Shaytan, who was cast out of heaven, after he refused to prostrate before Adam.

Music with instruments and poetry.

There are many versions of Satan. I'm guessing that in your definition Satan is evil? That's not uncommon, I just don't want to jump to any conclusions.

I understand that some Muslims interpret Islamic scripture in such a way that music is considered to be bad - and the Quran certainly hints at that. Why do you think music is Satan's tool?

Music is a distraction. So, how is it not a tool?

You know, Al-Queda made it a point to destroy music, and just art in general, when they seized areas in Afghanistan. ISIS does similar things.

You really are not painting a good picture of yourself with a thread like this.

Why? Is it because you love music?

How is music good for our society? It kind of addiction. I see this one guy at the gym who is constantly into music. I believe he loses he surroundings because he is way to in it.

Plus, there is a song that plays every day at the gym. The hook goes like this "Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil."

I appreciate culture, and music has been an integral part of human culture since forever.

There you go, making broad, baseless assumptions again.

How so? If one is into music he clearly out of it. How is he not out of it?

Are we talking Rap and Country and Western? Because I can see Rap and Country and Western as tools of Satan.

Yes, all that with instruments and poetry.

Well, you're not the first one to consider the evils of music.

Does Jazz Put the 'Sin' in Syncopation?

Therefore, it is somewhat of a rude awakening for many of these parents to find that America is facing a most serious situation regarding its popular music. Welfare workers tell us that never in the history of our land have there been such immoral conditions among our young people, and in the surveys made by many organizations regarding these conditions, the blame is laid on jazz music and its evil influence on the young people of to-day. Never before have such outrageous dances been permitted in private as well as public ballrooms, and never has there been used for the accompaniment of the dance such a strange combination of tone and rhythm as that produced by the dance orchestras of to-day.

Certainly, if this music is in any way responsible for the condition and for the immoral acts which can be traced to the influence of these dances, then it is high time that the question should be raised: "Can music ever be an influence for evil?"

SovietChild, you want to impoverish your life by removing from it all potential "tools of Satan" on the grounds they are "distractions" from your god? I'm sure your god wanted to create you so that you could restrict your life -- the life he gave you -- to a teacup.

How ironic that you deny life and consider that to honor the deity you believe gave you the life you deny!
