Maybe she just had a really trusting face, or Joe thought she was the finest thing in all the lands.

Joseph didn't tattle on her.

Well, the Roman Empire was the legal authority back then, and she had her husband's support, and it isn't like the Romans cared all that much about sexual fidelity. With all those things combined, it's not likely that those who wished to stone her for her perceived infidelity could have done so.

There was a charge of Jesus' illegitimacy. Jesus was born to soon after his parents came to live together. It is explained by a miraculous conception, after marriage but prior to living in Joseph's house. The charge increased in the 2nd cent.

She got married.

But just to be clear, adultery is only if a married person has sex with someone other then their marriage mate. Under the mosaic law, if an unmarried person has sex with another unmarried person it is called 'fornication'
And under the law, fornicators could get married, they did not have to be stoned to death.
Exodus 22: 16 Now if a man seduces a virgin who is not engaged and he lies down with her, he must pay the bride-price for her to become his wife.+17 If her father absolutely refuses to give her to him, he is to pay the money at the rate of the bride-price.

Jehovah is most merciful.

Mary and Joseph were engaged to be married at the time that she became pregnant. When Joseph learned that she was pregnant, he believed she must have had sex with someone and planned on divorcing her (at that time, an engaged couple were considered married even before the ceremony)
The account shows that an angel spoke to Joseph in a dream and told her to Mary home as his wife. So he did, but he did not have sexual relations with her until after Jesus was born.

Matt 1:18 But this is how the birth of Jesus Christ took place. During the time his mother Mary was promised in marriage to Joseph, she was found to be pregnant by holy spirit*+ before they were united. 19 However, because her husband Joseph was righteous and did not want to make her a public spectacle, he intended to divorce her secretly.+ 20 But after he had thought these things over, look! Jehovah’s* angel appeared to him in a dream, saying: “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take your wife Mary home, for what has been conceived* in her is by holy spirit.+ 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus,*+for he will save his people from their sins.”+ 22 All of this actually came about to fulfill what was spoken by Jehovah* through his prophet, saying: 23 “Look! The virgin will become pregnant and will give birth to a son, and they will name him Im·man′u·el,”+ which means, when translated, “With Us Is God.”+
24 Then Joseph woke up from his sleep and did as the angel of Jehovah* had directed him, and he took his wife home. 25 But he did not have sexual relations with her until she gave birth to a son,+ and he named him Jesus.+

Ah , now I understand it, thanks for this information

Also the Quran 19:27-33 explains precisely how she avoided being killed as an adulteress, if you are interested. It says the infant Jesus spoke from the cradle announcing himself as a prophet when his mother's chastity was questioned.

Of course, the entire Surah of Maryam is a good source for more on Mary.

I think he wanted the point of view of christians. Because i'm pretty sure they don't believe Jesus spoke when he was a baby.

If you read the Bible story, Joseph was afraid to marry her because of pregnancy. He must have believed she had sex with someone else. The penalty for having sex out of wedlock was for the couple to marry and everyone would have assumed that the baby was Joseph's baby, . He didn't touch her until after the baby was born, so their marriage was not consummated.

I think the early Xians didn't wasn't to practice a stone age, superstitious, violent, regionally tribal religion. In this sense, Mary was never to be questioned. As the mother of God, her character is not entirely relevant to the narrative.
