How much has your belief changed your life?

Even though I am agnostic now, it was Christianity which brought me to believe in a higher power. Because of this, I am now a much nicer person, I have more time for people and I am willing to help people, despite who they are or what they have done.

The cake is a lie
It's allowed me to let go of things with more ease and be a more mellow person in general.

I was very depressed my nineth grade year and I think that my beliefs help me to keep from mentally going back to where I was. I also think that it has helped me be a better person to my family.

My belief gave me a reason to understand the point of life. I came to this forum a little confused, still wanting answers; since I have been here all I get are more questions...:)

Beliefs are so much more interesting when centered around questions instead of answers, though! :D

My believes helped me to accept and deal with everything. I no longer questioned or was angery with god for a hard life with parents that really dont care. My blood preasure has droped from 150/90 to 130/40. Im much more tolerant of foriegn ideas. Overall, Im a better person.

I also am agnostic at the moment, but was Buhddist before. I too learned the fundamental ideals of morality and manners from religion. Religion to me is just another way of teaching good values, morality, and manners. I believe we as a society can achieve this without the need for daily prayers and belief in something misleading.

Life stinks now.... ;) I could lie, steal, beat people up for fun...... strip clubs, PORN!..... oh, it was so much fun to sin.

... but now I've found a love that surpasses all things, and for that, I am eternally thankful.

It's more a case of my life changing my beliefs. I at long last realized that the way I lived and wanted others to live was more compatible with, primarily, Daoism, but also as runners-up Buddhism and Sikhism than Christianity or anything else.

I think people are how people are ......as indivduals and as a group there is a gap. For some the gap is wide some very narrow. Meaning that some peoples personality changes drastically upon joining a group and others not much at all. For me the gap is very narrow but it makes the belief itself more important inasfar as it has the ability to create large social movements.
