“Abomination” is an interesting word.
An “abomination” is a thing that causes disgust or hatred. Homosexuals certainly fit that criteria, since a significant segment of the human population feels disgust or hatred towards them. So the honorable Judge was correct. Gay people are abominations.
However…
Here on this website, I notice it is Republicans and Christians who cause the most disgust and hatred. They are the abominations in the eyes of the leftist majority here. Topic after topic fueled by disgust and hate, in a place ironically called “Religious Forums”. It’s pathetic to watch but it is what it is.
Law Enforcement, who are respected and revered in many communities, are also abominations in the eyes of many leftists. The actions of a few lead to senseless hate and disgust towards the many.
Here in America, identifying with a political party strongly makes you an abomination to millions of people. Leftists are abominations in the eyes of many on the right. The Right are abominations in the eyes of many on the left.
And then there is me. Beacon of light, font of wisdom, unparalleled example of supreme badassery. Loved and hated both. Authoritarian, nationalistic… some might even say “fascist”. That would certainly qualify as an abomination in the eyes of many here. They don’t know the full story, obviously, but they don’t need to. Haters gonna hate. It doesn’t have to make sense. My worship of a Supreme God over all others makes me an abomination to many people. The way I exalt other gods including some genuinely Satanic forces makes me an abomination in the eyes of many as well. So I completely understand what it is like to arouse hatred in others- primarily over my Weltanschauung- but haters gonna hate and they will always find a reason.
And so I must ask. Who among you is not an abomination in some way?
