How to defeat Donald Trump thread

metis

I have strong doubts he'll be stopped from getting the Republican nomination, but it simply is terrifying for me to think that this guy could become our next president. If so, I'm gonna swim the Detroit River over to the Canadian side (we actually almost moved there 40 years ago anyway).

BTW, did any of you see the House of Commons' proceeding in London whereas the discussion was whether to ban him?

When dealing with the extreme far right wing the best weapon is logic.

I saw a graphic that argued that if Bernie goes against Trump, he wins by a margin. If Hillary squares off, it is really close.
Yep, that's what I've seen as well, but the last one on that that I saw was maybe about three or so weeks ago.

The base supporting Trump does not subscribe to logic. Otherwise, they wouldn't vote for him. :p

Yes but more people in the US believe in lo...you know what I'm not going to finish that. Because this thread will be bombard with the absolute need to prove me wrong. :(

At any rate, Trump is being successful because he is vocal about what a large amount of people have believed but have never been able to champion. If this country is really full of bigoted, self centered, egotistical people; maybe there is a much bigger problem in this country than what I always thought.

First of all, let me say this about you, Quetzal: you are an idiot and a pervert who lies constantly, and you simply are a gross person who I should punch in the face.

OK, you know I don't mean that, but what was your gut reaction , or the gut reaction of others, when I posted that?

Here's what so pathetic: besides Trump saying things we tell our children not to say, namely bullying people and calling them names, take a look at how his supporters respond in the crowd when he says it! They're laughing, but not at Trump. But what if Trump did the same to them? What if he called them all these names and used such slanderous statements? Would they still be smiling and laughing?

And how in the heck did he get most of the evangelical vote in South Carolina? Do they honestly think Jesus would have found that Trump's bullying language would be acceptable?

Frankly I'm scared but I don't know what to say to make this juggernaut lose.

Here is a BBC article about 5 ways that he could lose but they are wishful thinking:

For those who don't like Donald Trump, and I know some of you do, what can be done to stop the guy?

The democrats should be embarrassed that they can't nominate a candidate with strong enough appeal to win by a landslide. The Republicans should be embarrassed if Trump is the best they can do. IMHO, there's a sad, sad truth in my country. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of men and women in this country who would be great Presidents. They might lean to the right or lean to the left. But this nation is incapable of recognizing and electing such candidates.

Good questions that I can't really answer. I would just speculate that their decision is not rooted in the Gospel.

Predictit.com does not show the history of its markets, but I have been observing it and I am pretty confident that if you look at it for awhile you will see the same trend I am already observing. It is 62% Democrat chance exactly now.

He said he won among well educated, he won among poorly educated, and that he loved the poorly educated! So he has already done that... back t o the drawing board.
To be fair, how many people see themselves as poorly educated (even if they are)?

It was obviously an insult to them, they recognized it, and they're obviously not changing.

I would say less than 1 year of Junior college is poorly educated and they would know it, what would you say?
