So say you're in the woods, no compass, no Internet, no idea ahah, how would one find which direction Mecca is so they can pray? Remember, this is saying we have no tools and no idea from the start.

Praying towards the qiblah is one of the conditions of the prayer but if you are somewhere like you mentioned in the woods and you don't have any tools. You should pray towards where you think the qiblah (direction,Mecca) is most likely. And you don't have to repeat your prayer.
This is indicated by the hadith of jaabir. A narration by al daaruqutni and all bahaqi classed hassan (good) by scholar al albaani

Haha I actually just remember a joke a muslim told me regarding this question once, he said if you can't find Mecca, spin left 10 times and say bismillah then wherever your nose is pointing when you come around from being dizzy should be mecca, he said if it isn't Allah will pity you for your stupid in believing it would work and let you pray that way for the time being anyway lol.
If you have an idea of where you are and of geography then the sunrise and sunset should give you an indication.
Like all things in Islam, Allah makes things easy for us to worship Him. If you really don't know the correct direction then Allah does not cause anyone to suffer for genuine ignorance.
Just say your prayers and trust in the mercy and grace of Allah.
If you're a real expert even the growth of trees and plants indicate the direction of the suns path across the sky.
