It went well, thank you; my Wife and I can still enjoy romance after 29 years! How was yours?
I expect young Johnny kept you busy!
Wow 29 years, that's older than me! I hope I can say the same thing later on!
Thank you for asking. It didn't go quite as I expected. It was only our 2nd Valentine's day togethor, and I really wanted to make things nice for Johnny when he got home, like last year. I wanted to have everything ready - wine glasses, a tablecloth, a candle and a special fancy homemade dinner on the table, the works. My plan was that after we ate we were going to watch Romeo and Juliet (the 1960s one).
Well, it turned out baby had a doctor's appointment, a check-up, and I spent so long sitting there filling out paperwork. By the time I got home I was rushing around trying to get everything clean. I ended up making fish and macaroni - which made me sick the next day as I forgot to take my lactase pills. I also made a big fancy blueberry dessert - from a box.
He was really disappointed that I didn't even have a card for him. I found 5 bucks in the bottle bag and gave it to him. I felt so bad. I was going to make him a card later on, because we were really going to celebrate next weekend.
We started talking about religion during dinner (
BAD IDEA!) and that went on for far longer than I wanted it to. So I said I didn't want to talk anymore, and he took it personal. We ended up watching about half an hour of Romeo and Juliet - during which he proclaimed the fight scene was "really cheesy" and Mercutio was too different from the play. I was getting all starry-eyed from the balcony scene, and he was just getting sleepy-eyed. We then just went to bed, where we were immediately woken up by a crying baby.
But it was still a pretty good day.
