Be easy enough. It was part of a Miss Marple mystery story by Dame Agatha Christie (A Murder is Announced) -- pretend to get shot by using nail clipper to nick your ear. As anyone knows, ears bleed copiously. He's all set with a clipper or a small scissors in his hand, hears the pre-arranged shot and drops to the ground clipping his ear while he's down.

Well I've been called silly (and other things) for my thought. I am glad you can see the possibility.

Let's see:
1) he is the only one who expressed his sympathy towards Europe for what our continent has been enduring because of the destabilization caused by the Syrian war and the Libyan war
2) he is the only president that has started no war, unlike Bush or his successor
3) he is the only president that loves us Europeans.
4) he is the only president that received Orban talking about peace with Russia.

;)
"2) he is the only president that has started no war, unlike Bush or his successor"

If you had said he was the only president who didn't start or escalate any wars and added Carter and Ford I would probably agree with you.

Talk about conspiracy theories. That's a whopper.

As i understand it the shooter was a registered republican.

You know what i think? It was a Trump set up, he was slipping in the poles, what better way to zoom in front than a failed assassination attempt.

That is a good theory. But I think this thread is just a projection on the part of MAGA enthusiasts, assuming everyone is as cut throat as they and their hero aspire to be. Fortunately it isn't so.

Yeah it was all set up.
The guy was planted on a roof with a gun
He wasn't trying to kill Trump
He fires into the crowd killing and wounding others so it seems he was after Trump but was a bad shot
Trump cuts his ear with scissors because ears bleed a lot
SS kills shooter so he won't talk
Trump claims it was an assassination attempt to gain votes.

Talk about a monster of a conspiracy theory lol

Here's a conspiracy theory for ya...

We have dems that said Trump needs to be taken out, We have to get rid of Trump, Time to put Trump in the bullseye, dems rejoicing he was shot, dems disappointed he wasn't killed.
They actually tried and they failed.
Then some dem says next time don't miss

No. If this were all true, Europeans and European leaders would be favorable to him. They are very much not. You have it backward. Other presidents have shown more love for Europe and other parts of the world than Trump. Trump wants to back out of pretty much all international groups.
4) he is the only president that received Orban talking about peace with Russia.

Yes, a good indication that he is, in fact, not a lover of Europe. He associates with Orban and Putin, authoritarian dictators who are anti-Europe.

And that does not help. There is some truth to those individual claims, but that is not evidence for a conspiracy.

Are you saying this is a conspiracy theory and therefore invalid? If you're saying this genuinely, can you point me to the democrats saying Trump needs to be "taken out"?

There are so many people who want a world war against Russia.
They can be of any political hue.
They want to get rid of Trump because he will bring peace.
Trump brings the opposite of peace. He is intentionally divisive, and he intentionally inflames tensions. That's his whole shtick. It's how he motivates his base. He might cozy up to Russia because he wants to be just like Putin, but that's not "bringing peace". It's just associating with a warmongering dictator.

Oh, well done! No doubt you'll have that all over the internet by 6:00 PM -- but spreading dumb conspiracy theories isn't hard. By the way, I described part of the plot of a novel -- which I identified as a NOVEL, you know, "fiction?" Ever heard of it?

For the record, the shooter was a registered Republican. Don't blame me, not my fault. It just happens to be a fact in this particular incident, and I have no idea if it's relevant. I don't believe that either Republicans or Democrats are actively seeking the deaths of each other. I believe that the people who do that are not so much political as severely troubled in some way or other. I don't want to use derogatory terms here.

The witnesses that saw the bullying. No doubt some students didn’t notice any bullying.
Its seems conflicting. Same as students saying he tried out for the rifle team but wasn't good enough. The school says there is no record of Crooks trying out for the team and he never appeared on a roster.

"So far, a confusing - and at times conflicting - picture has emerged of who Crooks was as a person.

Speaking to local news outlet KDKA, some young locals who went to school with him described him as a loner, who was frequently bullied and sometimes wore "hunting outfits to school".

Another former classmate of his, Summer Barkley, cast him differently, telling the BBC that he was "always getting good grades on tests" and was "very passionate about history".

"Anything on government and history he seemed to know about," she said. "But it was nothing out of the ordinary... he was always nice."

She described him as well-liked by his teachers.
Others simply remembered him as quiet.

"He was there but I can't think of anyone who knew him well," one former classmate, who asked to remain nameless, told the BBC. "He's just not a guy I really think about. But he seemed fine."

Jameson Myers, a former member of the Bethel Park High School varsity rifle team who graduated alongside Crooks in 2022, told CBS that Crooks did not make the team.

"He did not even make the junior varsity team after trying out," Mr Myers added. "He never returned to try-outs for the remainder of high school."

Another former classmate told ABC News he "shot terrible" and "wasn't really fit for the rifle team". The school district said there was no record of Crooks trying out for the team and he "never appeared on a roster".

Mr Myers remembers Crooks as seemingly a "normal boy" who was "not particularly popular but never got picked on or anything."

“He was a nice kid who never talked poorly of anyone and I never have thought him capable of anything I’ve seen him do in the last few days.”

Max Smith, who took an American history course with Crooks, told the Philadelphia Inquirer that his former classmate "definitely was conservative".

Mr Smith recalled a mock debate in which they both took part, saying: "The majority of the class were on the liberal side, but Tom, no matter what, always stood his ground on the conservative side."

"It makes me wonder why he would carry out an assassination attempt on the conservative candidate," he said.

Color me surprised.

I have no idea why you would say any of that.

Are you sure you replied to the post that you meant to?

I am, sincerely, flabbergasted.
You said "I can't deny that I am shocked by how lucky the old fart was and the thought of how it could be for the best if the shot were more accurate definitely entered my mind. I won't make an apology for that;"

I was asking if you'd be okay with a conservative person saying "Too bad someone couldn't blow Biden's brains out." From my perspective, it's the same statement. You've phrased yours rather more elegantly than most, but still.
