I don't think it would stop wars, since many people who have the same language, same religion, and same place of residence and birth fight among themselves and sometimes even kill each other. Civil wars, anyone?

I think life would be much more boring than now. I view diversity as the soul of life, so to speak. Would you enjoy seeing rainbows if they weren't made up of multiple colors? I wouldn't. :)

But maybe war will be less and the free movement will be great and our debates will be less as well.:)
World cup will fail, translators will be jobless........

-There would be no illegal aliens, so that's at least one problem solved.
-There would be no need for translators, so information would flow more quickly and efficiently.
-Military technology would stagnate without any other countries to fight. The only reason for a military to exist would then be in case of succession of some region from the One World Nation or of some kind of other insurgency. Civil wars could still happen for this reason.
-Religious debates would be less diverse in nature and would most likely focus on differences between interpretation and denomination rather than the question of God's existence or non-existence.

I think complete tolerance of all religions and non-belief would reduce wars significantly. If we spoke the same language, it wouldn't take long for the languages to separate into local mutually non-intelligible dialects. And getting to one language has always lead to destruction and harm to speakers of suppressed languages.

It depends. If we can live comfortable with diversity "be a rainbow" then, yes. If you want to make it all one color, yes it will stop wars etc. However, oppressing individual thought and cultural identity, would it make people happy?

Whose language and whose religion? Do you know there is a hypothesis that at one time there was a single human language? And no, it was not Adamic or Heaven-speak or some such thing. Even if there were one language, language can't help but change over time as people move around. I haven't lived in northern New Jersey for almost 45 years, nor do I associate with anyone there. My accent is nothing like "Nicky Newark's" accent, and I live only 50 miles away.

It would probably look like some Orwellian nightmare.

In any case, such a thing is inherently doomed to failure. All the people everywhere would, sooner or later, just by virtue of geographic distance, develop their own customs, their own dialects which would eventually become wholly separate languages, and their own distinctive cultures.

And even without that, consider this: sharing a common culture, a common language, and even a common King, didn't stop the war between England and the US Colonies. Sooner or later, there will be separatist groups.

In context yes. Life would be more peaceful and stable. Focus and resources can be directed in ways that improve quality and advancement that one couldn't do in a hostile conflicting environment.

It's impossible that humans could collectively agree on a single anything.

The only way to create such a system would be overwhelming force and there would be constant turmoil and rebellion.

Would be a horrible reality.
