Human Marvel's. Andre the Giant and Robert.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

Nothing quite states the wonders of the human form when its put side to side and compared.

It makes me wonder in the past, if a race of super giant people did exist.

Walow rand afoul of the square cube law. He was having all sorts of health issues and he died at the very young age of only 22. No one has ever found any evidence for a race of giant humans, but there was a species of giant orangutans. Gigantopithecus. Only four mandibles and over 1,000 teeth have been discovered, but those give a good indication to size. Other less robust bones have been thought to have been consumed mainly by porcupines:

True, but people have still believed in different races of homo sapien/human being, such as the historic claims of negroids and mongoloids (makes me curious if those would be capitalized or not given they're discarded/obsolete proper nouns).
Goliath, from 1 Samuel, was said to be a giant. If he existed then it seems a fair probability he had gigantism. I don't know the lore and original terms, but we certainly have historic precedence to think it's possible people such as him haven't been seen as regular humans but something else. Or it's possible they've been seen as human, but with some sort or supernatural endowment as redheads have often been viewed.

Anyone over 7 foot tall starts to have problems The tallest NBA player ever was 7'7" and he had a rather short career. It seems that anyone over 8 foot tall would not be a fearsome warrior. He would more likely to be like the tallest man every in this thread. Handicapped at a young age with a short life.

Someone over 8 foot, it doesn't matter how good they are once armored. A man of that size, looking even larger and more imposing with a modest set of armor, would be very intimidating to many. Most wouldn't see it as a handicapped, and especially then may not even know that. What they see is the absolute largest and biggest person they've ever seen, and he's on the side trying to kill them, and that's going to be hard to move beyond when you are in an extreme survival mode.

"Armor" back then was very limited. Also it weighs you down and an 8 foot tall person would already be fighting gravity at a rate more than two times what you are.

Yeah, but as I said even modest armor adds to an already intimidating and imposing image. Even without armor that size intimates and scares people.

If an army had mostly veterans they would know of he weaknesses of being excessively tall. It would fright green recruits.

How many armies then were made of seasoned veterans? Lots of them were mostly peasants and slaves.
How many knew someone with gigantism and what it does to the body? They probably knew some big guys, a few of them pretty quick on their feet, but knowing someone with such a rare genetic disorder?
Yeah, just being that tall intimidates people (mid 6 foot is where it seems to approximately start), and it leaves such as impression on people that it's not a stretch to think some in the past may have assigned a special status to them that wasn't a regular human as we think of it.

It is hard to say. It only takes a few battles to learn what is a serious threat and what is not. I do not think that the myth was written by a person that ever served in the military.

Reminds me of that scene in Alexander where he slew a giant warrior of the opposing army.

I did not see it, but what you do not want to do with someone much taller than you is to stand straight in front of them. I learned that lesson since there was a man approaching seven foot tall in our dojo. Backing up was a BIG mistake. No pun intended. Go sideways.

I look for that epic scene on YT but I can't find it. Or was that movie Constantine?

It was where both armies agreed to duel with their champion (one a giant) instead of fighting a full war to determine who wins.

Of here it is....

The movie was titled Troy.

I was wayyy off. Another Mandala effect with me. *yikes*
