Another hypothetical question. In some strange circumstance you are holding...another human...and your favorite animal, your absolute favorite animal. You need to drop one. Which one do you drop?

Let's change the human arround, now the humans a murderer, who would you drop?

Opinions.

Oh, you can drop both by the way.

Human. Dead easy in both circumstances.

Make the human a relative, and I'll have some trouble deciding. Generally, I'll go by intelligence if I have two strangers (human and non-human).

If it's a retarded human, and a smart dog, I'll go with the dog.

However, I've never been in a hypothetical situation before. When I am, I'll let you know. :jiggy:

I would do whatever would result in the most benefit to the maximum number of beings. If this is split exactly 50/50 then I would flip a coin using my imaginary 3rd hand or just go where my biases lead me (ie dropping the animal).

I wouldn't be caught dead holding my favorite animal (white tiger... ow!) so the hypothetical situation would never arise. *smirk*

I, and others with mentally challenged family members, really don't appreciate the "humor" in this.... FYI.:tsk:

That was no humour. That was truth.

If it was a severely mentally damaged human, and an exceptionally bright dog, I'd drop the human.

^No he isn't.

Uhh...hmmm my head hurts.

I hope I am never in a hypothetical situation with any of you, you would all drop me.

If it was a bad situation where I might need food later, I'd drop the human.;)

Get rid of the competition, so to speak.

I would quickly shift my body weight and throw both of them back onto the cliff, which in turn would cause me to fall.

Most likely, I would not be holding the human in the first place ;)

But hypothetically speaking, if I was somehow holding a human, how about if I don't drop either one? :D

You equate intelligence to value of life? This perspective strikes me as very strange and the possible consequence of moral relativity gone wrong. Please justify this. I know several people who are generous, amazing human beings, however, they are not bright by any means. Are they any less of a person than a selfish, egotistical genius?
