Since he has already paid the taxes in question, it is unlikely that the government will even break even on the cost of the trial vs potential penalties.
Another reason they would normally have accepted the plea deal but the Demoncrats have politicized the justice department and are going after innocent citizens. (Put serious tongue in cheek emoji here.)

I totally agree.

Oh, the taxes were paid in full eventually by a third party. The 1.4-million-dollar debt to the IRS was over a period of several years, when Hunter Biden simply didn't pay his taxes. I am not sure he even filed his taxes.

Oh and including everything, it was over 2 million, paid by Kevin Morris, who doesn't expect to get paid back till 2025. Wow!

But they're paid. I'm not saying he shouldn't be held responsible, I'm just saying his debt is clear.

It's the life of addiction with support to get sober.

Well, all I can say is that if he has a friend who can pay over 2 million dollars and not get paid back for several years (2025!) then he's running in a lot different circles than I am, that's for sure.

Oh, this friend of his also was paying his rent and other living expenses but I don't know if he still is or not. This was in 2022.

Of course he is. He's also supported enough to beat (at least for now) Crack addiction. Natalie Cole beat heroin, but she couldn't beat Crack. Crack & Crank take their captives to a whole world of their own, so support to pull 'em back is serious and special support.
