try taking the op title to heart
put yourself on the spot instead of everyone else

tell us what you believe
I strongly believe that any person who tries to live a good life (charitable, non-judgmental, loving, strives to help those in need, etc.) Will be with God after death, regardless of what they do or do not believe.

I was not aware we were discussing you. My bad. So, how are you today?
You brought me up. ;)

Thanks for asking. I'm well, but feeling sad but joyful. Lost a dear brother in Christ yesterday. He was probably the most loving, faithful man of God I've ever known. I'm sorrowful but I know He is resting in paradise. I will miss him.

How are you today Sandy?

Life is grand; complete with my suffering. I've lost a few around me like that as well. My sympathies.

So you not only discount the words of Paul in the Bible, you also deny Jesus' words?

Which Jesus? John's Jesus makes shallow belief memorization more important. Everyone else's notes that you have to be moral to get rewards for being moral. Jesus even goes so far as to say your reward in heaven will match what you put into it. For me, the "belief only" folks are the guy in the parable of the talents who takes one coin and sits on it. Everyone else got rewarded according to their investments, but the hoarder got nothing and punished in the bargain.

Belief, trust, and loyalty to a person or thing.

For example, I have faith in God and Christ based on exploration and contemplation. But, I don't have faith in the Bible being 100% the word of God.
That is not the BIBLICAL definition of faith. That is your own personal definition.

If you don't believe the Bible, how do you know anything about Jesus? What's your faith based on?

The substitutionary role of a scapegoat is allowed for under Law and therefore satisfies the needs of justice (which is the correct application of law).
You and I have very different ideas of justice. Where I come from, punishing the innocent is never just.

Edit: you say that it's "allowed for under the Law"; I've heard Jewish members here say that human sacrifice is expressly forbidden under Jewish law. Do you have a different opinion, and if so, what's your basis for it?

I don't subscribe to faith only either Kelly.

Maybe a few times. Point?
I do not believe killing another animal does any good.
by Moses.....
you bring an animal of proper fitness
hands are laid on you...and then to the animal
as if the sin is tangible though invisible

an appointed person then takes the animal into the wilderness and stakes to the ground.....to die
your sin dies with the animal

I don't believe that can happen

and I don't believe the Carpenter dies to take away our sins

His salvation would be found in the parables
If His word is within you....you will be known to Him
He will see Himself in you

His crucifixion was the culmination of bad authority
and the weakness of the crowd to defend what was right

I cannot agree.....it is written....
many do good things, even in the Name of the Lord
and He knows them not.
