Pranam ratikala-ji,

It is so good to be back, my brother Jain-ji was one who helped me gain confidence to return and get to support and resources I needed. Seeking is a lot of work if you're new to a religion.

Exploring, while seemingly bringing me in circles has been beneficial to realizing what paths are most meaningful and close to my core beliefs.

And you are right, they do not call him 'All Atractive ' for nothing :)! They have turned me into a gopi, at times I can't stop thinking of ways to serve him. So, different from the way I feel practicing other faiths, I feel his very prescence when I chant, he is there!

'' those who worship Me with exclusive devotion, meditating on My transcendental form '', '' to them I carry what they lack, and I preserve what they have.''
ch 9 ...v 22 .

this is beautiful, i love this verse, sweet friend! i will print it out and remember this with me on my meditations!

you are completely right, i think Krishna doesnt ask us for much except what we do; we do for him.knowledge of text to support my ideas and beliefs will come, rituals to deepen my practice will come also- in the meantime, i am coming as i am and it is precisely enough.

i love all these verses, thank you sweet sister-ji for taking the time to consult me. i hope in this lifetime we will all attain that pure love for our ishta devata and bring it to others.

love,

maija

I will recommend (hate the word though) that you "get hold" of Hanuman. After all we dont want to keep making lines in the sand, throughout our lives. Hanuman makes one Hindu. It is a simple fact, though no one tells out this!

If I am not mistaken, Hanuman loved to repeat the name of Lord Rama an thus he is already a great friend of mine! I should read more Hanuman tales..in exploring Hanuman, I found a Hanuman doll...

Hanuman Doll

I am not sure if it is a controversial thing, to give a child a doll in the depiction of Hanuman, Krishna or Rama..

One can start her journey with the rock solid support of Hanuman, but when the journey is finally complete, in this life or other, one finds Hanuman only. The journey is not of salvation, but of immortality. No guaranties, no comforts, no assurances here, on this journey, beware:)

The name of my Lord gives me comfort, this is true! haribol.
I love the sharing of this knowledge, it reminds me of why SD never gets old or stagnant if you are interested, there is always so much to learn!

It is also why it may be difficult to call myself a Hindu or Vaishnava, there is so much to LEARN- in my heart I know I am not there.

This religion is not as simple as other religions which hold 10 commandments or 5 pillars (where many complete and stop) or hold a knowledge they feel is adequate..however, it makes up for it in it's beauty and depth.

I love and thank you all!

Namaste,

There is no injunction against it. But, seriously? More than $50 for a Lord Shri Hanuman doll? You are getting ripped off. You can find those in India for 50-80 Rupees, which would convert over to one dollar and something cents. Jeez, Indians that do business here in the USA really know how to inflate prices.

 I don't like when people make money off of Dharma. It is scathing.

But, yeah, no Maija-ji, it is not controversial according to my sect. The "doll" isn't going to be subjected to maltreatment, now, is it? If not, all is good.

Sweet friend, I hadn't checked out the price.
I am a huge cheapo, so no worries.

I am making a trip to Colombo, Sri Lanka in January (my parents are moving back). While it's a predominantly Buddhist country, hopefully, I'll come back with some goodies!

Glad to know it's nothing too controversial. And no, no maltreatment, lol.
Although I have had to remove pieces of cracker in Elmo's mouth several times, it's all love.
