I am tempted to be a panentheist again but I do not want to disappoint God.

Don't worry about the devil. Try different beliefs and systems. Eventually, you'll find the one that's right for you. God has more compassion than you think, Ismaila. He is not an angry, evil deity.

I know that but the Bible says that Jesus is the only way to be saved in John 14:6 and Acts 4:12.

I feel like the devil is tempting me to do this. Please pray for me.

When you stay close to Him and remember the tremendous love Jesus Christ has poured out for you, you will not be tempted by anything less and you will be able to resist the devil.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith,
being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy. 1 Peter 1:3-8

I know this is a christian directory, but the forum rules do allow people from outside the faith to ask polite questions; so here goes.

Can you describe why you are feeling this way? I find myself agreeing with Pegg, you seem to be all over the shop atm.

It also seems to me that you are searching for something that your current belief system is providing you, can you share this with us if you know.

Uh, there are Christian panentheists you know...quite a few actually.

Indeed. Myself included.

And I agree with Odion, as well. There's nothing about panentheism that would negate anything in the teachings of the Christ. It could even be quite beneficial for someone.

OH! My interest is piqued!

I don't wish to derail the thread, but I would be very interested in learning about how this works. I'd love a PM explaining Christian pantentheism to me if you'd be so kind. Or maybe some resources that I could look into for myself. :D

I'd like to ask a question.

Why do you think panentheism is incompatible with Christianity, and that panentheism would negatve this verse?

Indeed... panentheism says that all creation is within God, and that God transcends creation. Pantheism says that God and creation are the same, with no transcendence. Actually in my view of pantheism, if God and creation are bound together, that says either the universe can never end, or that if the universe does end, God ends with it.

What indeed makes panentheism incompatible with Christianity and the teachings of Jesus? When I was a Christian, I still held onto the panentheistic stance in the first place.

It is not a sin to be tempted. Sometimes the devil tempts people. That is reality.

dont get me wrong, i wasnt attempting to critisize you

Its just that it seems that when someone is into so many things, it would be really difficult to be committed to any of them... i would find that very unsettling myself, do you feel unsettled with religion?

What makes you want to put god more in a category of being his own creation and why would it be sinful to think that? Trinity and other concepts like it kind of attest to the notion.

Maybe if this is the only universe. If one can start so can others so god would be all universes.
