I call myself Muslim & I love Jesus (pbuh)

New Member
Hello My Christian Friends, I do not wish to argue with you about anything that I am able to say. I want to express some interfaith love between us both Muslims and Christians. This is a debate forum so do expect that my opinion is not the exact same as yours but here me out anyway. Besides, do unto others what you would have done unto you. And wouldn't you appreciate others to hear you out? :)

Alright, I want to say that we are both two concerned with our differences and not enough with unity. The problem is from both sides. But both Muslims and Christians do not necessarily practice correctly all the time. Some of them do, most of them do not.

But what I want to present to you all today is my love for Jesus (pbuh) and my opinion about him (pbuh) and my beliefs. My father was Christian and my mother was muslim.

So, a know about both religions pretty well. When I was a kid i used to cry while reading both the Bibleut and Qur'an. My favorite verses of the Bible are the verses around the "Lord's Prayer" You probably would eventually ask yourself "How can you believe in both Christianity and Islam?" Well, I actually I believe in Christianity, Islam, Judaism & more. And maybe you would also if you did a little research on all of them. Because actually they all come from God. Hmm, kind of hard to imagine for you?

Well, actually the root of the religions are all the same. They come from = Prophet Abraham (pbuh). He was believed in One God. Muslims themselves profess to their belief in prophet Jesus (pbuh) and that All-Mighty God has sent the same religion to prophet Muhammad as He sent to prophet Abraham (pbuh). Muslims believe that all laws that are Abrahamic Laws are the Islamic Laws. Nothing more and nothing Less. Did you know that?

So, you maybe ask yourself, well, "aren't they completely different religious practices?"

But actually no. At the roots of them are the same. The ten commandments and such laws are all the same in all of the religions.

Jews eat Kosher (meaning they pronounced the Name of God over their animal before killing it and slightly extra processes) and Muslims do the same and call it "Halal".

Jews call God "YHWH". A word which is from Hebrew. It's written almost exactly as Allah in arabic.

God revealed His Books in these semitic Languages, the pure languages like Arabic, Hebrew, Aramaic. They are very clear and contain much wisdom and exact definition (Thus the reason why Jews study Hebrew intensively) (and Muslims should do the same).

Muslim beliefs can be found all in the Bible and torah "not eating pork" or "drinking wine" the way of praying, bowing and prostrating "

Women wear "hair scarves" (e.x. Nuns practice wearing hair scarves as the Muslim women for their devotion to God and protection of chastity, etc. These cloths can be found in the Bible)

and fasting

The testification of Faith for the Muslims is to be a witness that there is no god but the One and Only God. (Allah in Arabic Language) and The Holy Prophet Muhammad pbuh was His Messenger. The bible says eternal life is to Know the Lord & to know that Jesus (pbuh) was sent by Him. (His Messenger) Sound familiar?

Well, In reality we are all in jumbled confusion about what books were revealed by God but in actually none of us are wrong. The Torah was sent by God. The Qur'an was sent by God. The psalms of David, etc, sent by God.

And with time they have been changed. And people's opinion have been changed. But the Holy Qur'an (according to the Holy Qur'an) says that God has kept it free from being changed as others have changed His other Books.

That's right they all came from God (the Books of the Three Major Religions mainly although God has sent other Books, it's too much to discuss).

God says in the Holy Qur'an (And I am sure you can find it in the Bible) that He sent prophets to every nation on earth. There is not one nation in which a prophet has not gone to.

The Last of the Prophets was Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). And he (pbuh) left behind the Last Revelation which is the Holy Qur'an.

There are many dominations are Christianity. Some of which do not believe in the divinity of Jesus (pbuh) or the Trinity. Some believe in One and Only One God. A message is preached mainly continuously throughout the old testament but also throughout the new one.

I am a Christian, Muslim, and a Jew. Because I understand what it means to be them truly. To be a Christian is to be a follower of Christ (pbuh). I do follow him (pbuh) and every way that I know how and often much more than Christians do. I am a jew, I believe in the Laws of Moses. I pray to One God and eat food that is dedicated to God and etc and believe in the Laws of the Torah. I pray to Allah, some people call Him Yahweh. It doesn't matter, same name different language from my understanding. I called Him Dieu (God in french) would it mean that I am praying to someone other than the Creator of the Worlds? Nah, of course not.

Unfortunately there is big confusion over the supposed "divinity" of Jesus (pbuh) or whether or not there are three "gods" unified. And furthermore over small things such as the Sabbath day. And whether or not Jesus was a prophet.

First i want to say about the small things...Do you think that God is going to deny someone paradise if thinks the Sabbath is on Thursday rather than Saturday? Nahh He is not.

We too often argue about the small things such as these and try to find a way to pick at each other and argue. This makes us look really bad. And some people even use it as an excuse to hate religion and religious people.

You may have heard otherwise, but God in the Holy Qur'an says to attempt unity with Jews and Christians and to come to a peaceful agreement that we worship none but the Creator of the World and that associate no other Gods with Him, He is ONE & ONLY.

"I am the Lord Thy God, Ye shall have no other gods besides Me."

That's a pretty important commandment. And so Christians please be very careful about worshiping "jesus" (pbuh). He was only a servant of God (High Esteemed servant of God according to Qur'an also)

And there are many different dominations of Christianity including the unitarian Christians who just pray to God. Pray to God, call Him "O Creator of the Worlds" or something similar. But just a small warning, don't worship someone else besides the Creator of the Worlds. Because Thou shall have no other gods except the One & Only God is a pretty important commandment and God has destroyed nations for breaking it. On the Day of Judgment, our Lord will settle our disputes.

If you are going to pray than pray like this:

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And blead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

I would be interested in discussing more with you all. Peace to the Believers. (ps. if you want to learn more about islam itself, check out islam-guide website)

Thanks for listening everyone, I look forward to your replies :)

Have a Blessed Day :)

Tranquil Servant

Was M.I.A for a while
Hi Hazrat,
I also am one who wishes for peace amongst us brothers and sisters of the Abrahamic faith. I consider myself a follower of the Messiah Jesus and my husband is Muslim. I have Muslim friends and I absolutely love the Muslim people. All the Muslims I've ever encountered were generous, humble, and loving people. I watched the movie "The Messenger" the other day and it warmed my heart.
I would also like to make it clear that I don't worship three Gods; I don't regard the doctrine of the Trinity. I believe in one God who has powers we could never imagine. I believe God appeared to Abraham in the Old Testament and bestowed the Holy Spirit on most (if not all) his prophets.
Genesis 18:1-3
The LORD appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance o his tent in the heat of the day. 2 Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.
3 He said, “If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, [a] do not pass your servant by.
Psalm 51:11
Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.

There was no such thing as a Trinity doctrine before or after Jesus Christ was Born. I also believe Christian women should wear head coverings.
1 Corinthians 11:6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.

I don't celebrate X-mas because no one knows the exact date of The Messiah's birth and I know he wasn't born in December. I believe X-mas originated as a pagan holiday. Plus, I take Saturdays off as my Sabbath. I highly respect the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and I believe he was a Prophet for his people.
I only wish extremists from all the Abrahamic religions would stop focusing on the differences between us, using it as fuel to spread hatred and force "their own" agenda; and focus on the similarities that should unite us and focus on spreading peace as God would want us to do. We all do wrong in Gods eyes so why should we judge one another; there's only one who is perfectly just and has the right to judge. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with people trying to educate one another but only if the person wants to, not because they feel forced to or because one person claims to be better than the other and there are many whether they know it or not who give off that impression when their pride comes into play. Pride is a big problem if not THE big problem; many believe they're right but lets not forget that Pride (hubris) is a major reason why Satan fell.
Peace, compassion, humility, and love is the key.
John 13:34
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
Mark 12:31
The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
Luke 6:31-33
31 Do to others as you would have them do to you. (A)
32 “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? (B) Even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that.

PEACE AND BLESSINGS UPON YOU :).

Have a Blessed Day :)

Thank you so much for your post and I do appreciate your openness to accept all the prophets, Moses, Jesus and Mohammed. I want to present to you that the vision Jesus proposed transcends the abrahamic faith. the fundamental question is:who human beings are?
Dualistic Monotheism: Traditional Judaism and Islam ( not mystical Judaism, Kabbala and mystical Islam, sufism) can be described as Dualistic monotheism. Dualistic monotheism believes that there is only one God and creation and human beings are creatures of God. There is an essential difference between God, creation and human beings. This God reveals his will through the prophets. Their message is the Holy Books: Torah and the Holy Qur'an. The relationship between God and human beings is like creator and creature. While in Torah a dialogue with God is possible, Qu'ran advocates absolute surrender to the will of God revealed in Qu'ran. Jews may consider Jesus as a kind of reformer of Judaism not more than that. Muslims accept Jesus as a prophet of God, born of Virgin Mary, but still a mere human being. Both Jews and Muslims do not accept Jesus as the literal the Son of God and certainly he is not an incarnation of God, second person of the Holy Trinity and he is not one with God.
Jesus Christ transcended the dualistic Monotheism. His experience of God can be described as Non-dualistic Monotheism. According to this vision there is only one God. This God is not a creator but manifests creation. Human beings are not creatures of God but sons and daughters of God. These expressions are metaphorical than metaphysical or literal. Human beings have the possibility to grow in their relationship with God in three levels: first relationship with God is as Creator and creatures. Second level is as Father and son or daughter(these are metaphorical expressions). It means God is not a creator and human beings are not creatures but manifestations of God. Creation comes from God as the ice comes from the water. The third relationship is the realization that only God is. Everything comes from God and everything returns to God. In the first level one says, 'God is greater than me'. In the second level a person says, 'I am in God and God in me'. In the third level a person says' only God is or God and I are one'. it does not mean a human being becomes another God. There is only one God. There is no God but God.
This experience was completely dissonance with the Jewish understanding of divine -human relationship. Jesus' statements were considered blasphemous. Since Jesus stood by his experience of God, he had to face death by crucifixion for blasphemy.

Was Jesus a Prophet? There are different types of prophets. There are prophets who form a collective group, who give a rule of life, who give a Holy Book. Zarathustra was such a prophet. Moses was such a prophet. Mohammed was such a prophet, the founder of Baha'i was such a prophet.
There are prophets who call the people to the original vision, like Elija, Elisha and many other prophets in the Jewish Bible. There are prophets who reform the original vision and who propose a new vision: Prophet Isaiah, Prophet Jeremiah and Prophet Ezekiel propose a new vision: A New heaven and a New earth, the New covenant written in the heart, replacing the heart of stone with the heart of flesh.
Jesus Christ was not a prophet like Moses. He did not start a new group and he did not give a new book. He was not call the people to the original vision and he was not a reformer. He inaugurated a new vision, the new covenant, writing the law in the heart of the people. He invited people to grow from the dualistic monotheism into non-dualistic monotheism, which he called the kingdom of God. He opened his experience of God as a possibility to everyone. I am the light of the world and you are the light of the world' he said.
Christianity: Christianity is the combination of Dualistic Monotheism and non-dualistic monotheism. As per the human beings it accepts dualistic monotheism. There is only one God and human beings are creatures of God. When it comes to Jesus Christ it holds the non-dualistic monotheism. There is only one God. Jesus Christ is not a creature of God. He is the manifestation of God or incarnation of God or the Son of God. Ultimately he is one with God. This dual vision creates a kind of spiritual apartheid between Christ and Christians and Christ became an object of worship. His disciples being brought up in the dualistic monotheism of Judaism could not have imagined that they could claim the experience that Jesus had. They confined it only to Jesus and denied it to others, even though Jesus opened this possibility to everyone.
According to Jesus: There is only one God(monotheism). This God is greater than creation and human beings. This one god does not create but manifests the creation. Creation and human beings are not creatures of God but manifestation of God. Human beings have the potential to grow in their relationship with God and realize that in the ultimate level they are one with God.( They do not become another gods. if everyone becomes a god then there will be billions of gods in the world ).The purpose of sacred scriptures and religions and spiritual persons is to help human beings to realize their potentiality of unity with God. Realizing unity with God makes one humble as everyone has the same possibility and help others to realize this truth. Jesus said, the Father and I are one' and he washed the feet of his disciples to show that he came to serve and not to be served. Jesus would not approve anyone who worships him. to worship can be understood to worship one's own possibility, one's own destiny and one's own inner self.

There is only one God. Trinity is not advocacy of three gods. Trinity has it practical value. if creation and human beings are manifestation of God then we need to see God in every other. It is God in myself loving God in the others. It is loving our neighbour as the manifestation of God. Human life is relationships. In relationships we need to experience God. In every relationship there are three: the giver, the receiver and the object given and received. If everyone and everything is the manifestation of God: then the giver, the receiver and the object given and received are the manifestation of God. In fact it is God loving God, God giving to God. Jesus said, whatever you do to the least of my brother and sisters you do unto me. Jesus loved God as himself and Jesus loved everyone as himself. He was everything and everyone. That is what it means to believe in Trinity. To believe in Jesus as the Son of God is to believe in one's potentiality as the Son of God. To believe that Jesus Christ is one with God is to believe in one's own potentiality to realize to be one with God. To believe in God as a Trinity is to believe in one God who manifests as Trinity in realtionship with creation and in relationship with human beings and between one human being with another human beings. It is to believe that life is relationship. In relationship we experience God.
Jesus Christ gives us a higher possibility. Hence he is not one of the prophets: he is not a reformer of religion: he is not a founder of new religion. His mission was to inaugurate a new human consciousness, which goes beyond all religions and declares:I am the way,the truth and the life. it is the vision of non-dualistic monotheism open to every human being and not limited to only Jesus. Unfortunately Christianity limited this possibility only to Jesus. I have to mention that the Vedic Tradition, five hundred years before Jesus, had this experience and opened this possibility to everyone. In the Abramamic religions Jesus Christ opened this possibility to everyone.
