Me and my son just watched a movie on T.V. called Freedomland. It was based on a women in a black neighborhood, she was white and so was her son. She said he had been kidnapped, so of course it caused riots between the black and whites. Well it turns out she had left her son who was four by himself and he had drank a whole bottle of cough syrup and had died before she returned home. It was a very emotional movie the whole way through. And I cried. I kept thinking the guilt she must have felt, being responsiable. Then I always think gosh their is always room for improvement on how we treat our children. I can get so emotional over movies and the news.

Is anyone as big as a sap as me?

Although this would never happen to me because my son is four and he is never unsupervised. Had this been me though, I would not have lived much longer. The guilt alone would have killed me on the spot...

Me to although my son is 13 now so he can be left alone for short periods. Now to leave him alone is a whole different set of worries.

Not sure if it's appropriate to this thread, but I've met some people on here that are empathic to the point of physical pain. That, combined with the startling imaginations some have make it very difficult for them to watch a show or hear a story or (sometimes) go out into the world, because it feels as if they're flooded by emotions that don't originate in themselves. (Or they react in their own way to what they feel in others.) I've only met about two others like that in person, but on here, there are at least five people that I know of who I see as possessing that attribute. It makes me wonder if we share something in common, either in our backgrounds or in our spiritual nature.

Oh, I sure can be! Songs, movies, weddings, funerals, sunsets...especially if I'm in a certain mood the tears just flow.

I cry at Disney movies (of course some parent always dies in them), but I'm ridiculous. I don't just tear up, I sob. It is a site.:sad4:

Certain songs, reading certain things, even memories will make me collapse into a puddle. Even seeing someone else cry.

Well,

I would tell you that I am a man's man, a world-striding colossus of a man, an enormity, a massiveness of masculinity.

My wife, however, might well tell you a different story!

I am the world's worst; I can't even begin to recall the many films over which I have found myself in tears..........

The only one that comes to mind is Fluke (I even have a copy of it, and watch it about once a year, when the carpets need cleaning...:sad4:

ahhh you are a writer, most writers tend to be more sensitive don't you think?

Not only that, I'm a poet and songwriter.:)

But yeah, I think artistic people are naturally emotional.

:D Just because I have zip appreciation for the sentimental doesn't mean I don't like people or think it's fun and useful that others do have an appreciation for it.

Lord -- they nicknamed me Spock in school.

My friends still threaten to dress me in pink clothes, or things with little hearts on them. :cover:

We have a good joke about it all.
