first of all, I hate all pit bulls, and wouldn't be opposed to putting a bullet in every one of their heads, but second off, now even my bishon-maltese wants to sniff my wound and so I'm I'm struggling to like any dogs or any animals at this point.

Help me to like dogs and animals again.

Ouch! Sorry!

I am a bit of a Pitt defender. My best friend had a staffy. As gentle as a lamb and as friendly as any dog. My step father had a husky. Intimidating looking dog. But you could use him for a pillow and he’d snuggle close during winter. Bit of a drama queen but that’s just huskies for you. Dogs act on instinct and pit bulls are bred with very powerful jaws. It’s not necessarily their fault.
Hope you can recover quick. And here’s some fluff balls to hopefully rekindle some doggo love

Sorry that happened, though it looks like it is healing up well, and it could have been a heck of a lot worse. If a strong enough dog is intent on it, they can rend flesh to pretty terrifying degrees. I don't feel we're meant to be responsible for animals' well-being in a direct sense like we try our hand at. And in the end, no pit bull ever existed in the wild - they are a man-made creation. If you're looking to give animals another chance - maybe try and focus on the idea that that bite on your leg is entirely due to human efforts. "Blame" is a very gray area in your case.

I too have a fear of and dislike for pit bulls. Although my son in law has had one, a female, very sweet. i guess much depends on who owns them and their treatment. But there is a reason that they are the chosen breed for fighting, And when there are two or more together a kind of pack mentality takes over, which I guess, could happen with many breeds.

That looks like a sore one, mate.

I love American bullies and find them really beautiful and very placid in general. Like other dogs and people if they aren't treated right (as in raised with love, socialised, taught properly) they can be dangerous. When they are aggressive they're hair-raisingly scary.

Blame the owner, not the pooch.

Yeah, I had a pit bull attack my 3 month old puppy once, it was terrifying. But I absolutely love pitties, as they are such sweet dogs, as long as they have a good owner. Honestly, the most vicious dog (and one I've been bit by most often), I've encountered, tend to be Chihuahuas. People don't think of them as a threat, but they are the most liable to snap and attack.

They are the chosen breed for fighting mainly due to pop culture, has nothing to do with temperament. This is just perpetuating the myth that pits are naturally aggressive, which no dog is.

I used to workout with a guy that raised wolves

he was fine among them.....apparently

but when his daughter reached into the confinement to pet the doggie
one of them took her arm off

let's talk aggression

I was attacked by a pit bull when I was four. Chewed up my had pretty bad. Went to the doctor, had stitches, still have scars.
Anyway, I was pissed at the dog. I went back to the dog the next day, I don't know to punish him, tell him he was a very bad dog or something. Ended up back in the hospital.

Sorry, not a dog person. Can't help you there.

I got news for you, bud. You're not an alpha, either. Animal abuse is a crime, not a badge of honor.
