I got my California ballot in the mail yesterday

anna.

Before it arrived, I'd received a text from the California Secretary of State that my ballot had been mailed to me, and if I didn't receive it within 7 days to contact them.

After I've mailed it back I'll wait for the text that tells me it's been received and counted.

Anyone who want these alerts can sign up for them via their choice of method: text, email, or voice call.

Highly recommend anyone who votes by mail check to see if your state offers a similar service.

My NY one is on the way, I can't vote in my polling place because I will be working in another polling place for the entire day,
This is all about making voting possible for even people like me who need alternative voting options.

I got my text this morning saying my ballot had been received and counted. May Harris/Walz and sanity prevail.

I'm tuning out the majority of political coverage from now until the election, particularly pollsters and hand-wringers.

My wife & I already filled ours out & put them in the mail. :p
I hope you didn't do anything illegal like putting both of yours in the mailbox at the same time?
Check your local laws, that might be ballot stuffing.

In the UK, if you apply for a postal vote, it is for ever. You don't apply each year, you just receive your voting papers about 3-weeks before the election.

I'm waiting for mine. Hopefully it will arrive before the 7 day deadline.
I got mine on Tuesday, unfortunately it was under this garbage truck that turned over and crushed my mailbox.

Now I don't have a mailbox to return it with.
Nobody hurt except my mailbox.

So how would that work for invalids, people who aren't mobile?
It varies, husband wife is probably ok, but other persons may be technically illegal in some jurisdiction and collecting multiple ballots say in a senior living center without the proper authorization (whatever that is) is one of those things that has been prosecuted as ballot fraud AFAIK.

How civilized.
Yes, voting in the UK is much easier than it appears to be in US.
If voting in person, there are no queues, there are thousands of polling stations. I've never had to drive to vote, mind you I live in an urban area. In rural area you may have to drive.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I am voting in person.

It's the way it should be , which of course exceptions made for the handicapped and other individuals who cannot physically travel to the polling place.

I'm not voting this year because I'm keeping my word, but I'm not too worried cuz my vote won't count anyways at least for now here in the People's Republic of New York. There's no question the electorate will be voting blue here.

I've had my ballot for a few days. Haven't filled it out yet. I always vote absentee, except for one time I had to vote in person because I missed the deadline to return my ballot. I prefer being able to take my time and look up the specific candidates while I fill it out.

ELECTION INTERFERENCE!!!!
Not to mention the Poll Tax of about $200 to replace my snow plow resistant over the concrete culvert extended extended mail box.

I used to have to replace the box about every other year till I built a breakaway mount that I only had to reassemble two or three times a year.

Odd, I've already voted a couple of times in NY and California, and I haven't gotten a single text. Maybe I was too busy at the controls for my weather directing machine.
