Zoroastrian ≠ Parsi

Gatha 3, verses 1-2.

Now I shall speak to those who wish
to hear of the two principles,
which are of importance even to the wise.
I shall also, with reverence for good mind
and the good consideration of righteousness,
have praises for the Lord,
so that you may see brilliant happiness.

Hear the best with your ears
and ponder with a bright mind.
Then each man and woman, for his or her self,
select either of the [following] two choices.
Awaken to this Doctrine of ours
before the Great Event of Choice ushers in.

Gatha Ahunavaiti 4.3 (Yasna 31.3)
What Thou hast through the Inner Fire disclosed,
The Bliss through Asha promise to us all,
The Law Divine for the discerning soul;--
All that to us, O Mazda, clear explain,
In words of inspiration from Thy mouth,
To help us to convert all living men.

So in-case you didn't get that...

YES YOU CAN!

This was a point of confusion for me when I first heard of Zoroastrianism. I didn't know at the time that Parsis were just one denomination of Zoroastrianism, and they are exclusivist and isolated at that.

If you wanted to convert to Christianity and an Amish man said you couldn't join, that doesn't mean you can't be Christian; that just means you wouldn't be accepted by that Amish community. =)

There is a parallel in RigVeda 9.63.5: "kṛiṇvanto viśhvam āryam" - Make the whole world Aryan. ;)

"Indraṃ vardhanto apturaḥ kṛṇvanto viśvamāryam l apaghnanto arāvṇaḥ ll"
Performing every noble work, active, augmenting Indra's strength, driving away the godless ones.

What is Zoroastrianism in Sanskrit?

Not sure about Sanskrit, but the old Avestan word was "Daenâ Vañuhi", which basically means "Good Conscience" or "Good Religion". From what I understand, translating from Avestan to Sanskrit is fairly simple, as they are very similar languages. I'm no linguist, however, so I'm not sure how I'd go about that. ;)

What you call Aryans are basically Iranians. Due to language drifts every word changes its pronunciation. Zoroaster might be a person and his colleagues Zoroastrian and his philosophy Zoroastrianism. Sounds like Soroster, sorostra, stotra, or the like meaning song of God.

Someone has to check out this.
