We will see what the politics are with Iran. She cares about disadvantaged peoples which means she probably cares about disadvantaged people. She'll do her part with climate change, pressuring India and China too. She won't lose on the issue of abortion. She is fiscally rersponsible.

I loved how she wanted to block Russian, Chinese and Iranian bots and to make you post with your name. People who spent 1 hour on tik tok were way more likely to side with Hamas and many young people don't believe the Holocaust was real.

An honest politician would not promise much given the realities of Washington. How many have you known of that actually did what they promised? I look at their philosophy and their track record. In her case, she was a governor so I'd look at what she said and did in that office.

In general, I am not a fan of Republican (or other conservative) policies in many areas. I have, I confess, voted Conservative in Canada from time to time, but our Conservatives are way less conservative than the American Republicans. And those votes were only when it was time to boot the Liberals out and clean house -- so "for a while, but not a long while." (Canada, since our confederation, has had 25 Liberal governments and 19 Conservative ones. For most of the 20th century, the Liberals were considered the "natural governing party" of Canada, and have been in power for all but 9 years of the 21st century.)

However, if the U.S. is determined to have a Republican administration next, then my preference, by about 8000 to 1, would be Nikki Haley.

You are far less wrong than usual. I still cannot vote for her, but it does give me hope that the party will get over Trump. Ideally both parties were trying to get us to the same destination. That ended for a while with Trump.

Actually quite a few. Biden has done a lot of what he promised, like infrastructure investment, investment in the economy, student loan relief, bringing down inflation to the lowest on the planet of all first world nations. And there's more, despite a republican party that largely wants power.

Heck, even Trump did a lot of what he promised, much of it damaged America one way or another. He promised a tax cut, and that happened to the benefit of the rich. He promised to build the wall, and he did some of it, but was too unprepared that there would be legal burdens. He tried, and failed.

I look at their philosophy and their track record. In her case, she was a governor so I'd look at what she said and did in that office.

That's all part of what gets promised. Most of politics is theater, but we expect those we hire to perform as promised.
