Frankly, I think it's more because of politics as we've lost our sense of decorum and even what "family" is supposed to be about. It seems that we've lost any sense of pragmatism.

I agree. Poiticals aspects are worse than I have ever saw them. I left that off because of my use of the word "segregation".

advocating segregation in some areas, eg, colleges
(HBCs), fraternities (in my observations).

Living in the South I sort of saw this coming.

I was still working at Target fifteen years ago when I over heard a heated convo...

"I wish liberals would all eat **** and die"
"I wish conservatives would all shoot themselves to death."

I had to intervene, being an executive, and reprimand both.

It makes no sense to me either.
Neurotypicals have long been inscrutable to me.
But it isn't just Ameristanians....just look at RF.
The ferriners are just as tribal regarding Covid 19 (IMO).
