As you guys know, I take part in many discussions in the forum. But I have noticed that often I get misunderstood or even wrongly accused of saying things that sound like I know or understand more than I actually do. That is not anyone in the forums fault :) That is on me. So i do not accuse anyone of being mean toward me :)

I realize that I must be better in using quotes or verses from the spiritual teaching to explain my understanding.
For a long time now when I have answered in a thread or made one my self, I used my own understanding of spiritual teachings as a base to my answer. But now I realize that if you guys going to understand me in a better way, i must be able to use quotes or verses from the different religious books so there will be less misunderstanding of what i actually trying to bring forth :)

But know that even i sometimes rant about being unwillingly forced in different directions It is not your fault that happens, Its always on me, I must get better in accepting that you guys can not understand me from times to times :)

some people are just jerks, no amount of quoting scripture is going to change their reaction IMHO

I would not call them Jerks :) But sometimes it is hard to get the message I wish to convey forward so anyone can understand what I want to say.

There can be many reasons why they do not understand me. An example is English is not my native language so I still struggle to get the word out the way I want.
But I do see it can be stubbornness from their side sometimes, that religion can not be true, then no matter how much I try, I can not get thru to them :)

But i do not wish to blame others

I have no trouble understanding you, but I have a history of studying Buddhism, was even a monk for 3 weeks and a temple boy for months

Nothing wrong with ones own explanation, so forth.

That's where you find the truth.

The great thing is, if you can confirm, your truth, with traditional truth. That's gold.

Blame that bs will never "get thru" to sensible people.

And that self-absorption is of interest only to the absorbed.

I actually do like Amanaki as a member and appreciate that he's here. If I'm a little stern with him myself sometimes, it's because:

1. I'm a little confused that he talks about his (conservative) views and then points to his religion as the reason, when he takes even more conservative stances on some subjects than his religion tends to dare step foot into.

2. He talks about how he doesn't like to see certain "bad" behaviors in public. I just wondered when it came to his presence on RF, what he thinks, as RF does have some threads that get a little PG+/PG13.

Anyway, I did feel bad for being a little firm in a thread recently with him. But in my defense, the subject wasn't one where there was just bound to be friendly agreements and hand-shaking. Just wanted to kind of clear up that there are no hard feelings.

What does "what he thinks, as RF does have some threads that get a little PG+/PG13". means? If you clarify this I maybe able to answer :)

Well, you spoke in a thread about how you don't like to see certain things in public. I'd like to touch on the fact that those same things, public displays of sexuality, do sometimes occasionally exist on RF, I think. So what would be your response to someone who says "You aren't truly avoiding nudity / public displays of affection, as you're on RF?"

If i accidentally come across nudity here in RF I may comment on it in the way of showing my discomfort about it (it has actually happened with a couple who did add nude photo some time ago) And yes i did say what my stand on it was, because it was in a thread I did start and I got disappointed that someone would show nudity in my of my thread that was not about sex or sexual content.I think you AT-AT was a part of that discussion too.

But what i learned from that situation was to avoid areas where nudity could occur also in forums.

(thank you for letting me explain my stand on the topic)

Being able to convey a message clearly and understanding what is written clearly are two side of the same coin. Sometimes it is on you and sometimes the reader just lacks reading comprehension. The advantage of a forum is that we can ask and we can clarify.

No worries. Very few of us have an in-depth and extensive knowledge of religious and philosophical texts outside of the ones we are really interested in. Don't feel obligated to do anything you don't want to. Take your time, Just be yourself and do your best. And have fun- that's the most important one. You'll never learn things if you don't enjoy finding them out.

And if that's not "good enough" for us, well, that's because we're a**holes and you can tell us to go f*** ourselves. This is the internet after all. ;)
