I have seen some documentary about breeding.
Foxes into tame animals, and how quick they revert.

Also have met someone whose daughter lost an arm to a kept wolf.

I've had dogs of several breeds over several decades.
I have noticed that a firm hand and a domineering persona is something canines respect.

Bad dogs are typically handled by people who think the weapon already knows what the owner wants.
The owner is then NOT in control.

Bad dogs are kept by people who think the animal is a toy.
That toy will bite anything it cares to.

The dog is the one species bred to more character traits than any other kept animal.
Each dog to his character and each character to a proper owner.
But ALL canines need that hand in control.

Too bad about the little girl.
The owner of the wolf did not understand that some canines are NOT likely to be controlled.
Several breeds of canine never approach Man.
They are wild....and will stay that way.

I would agree, the domestic form of canine should be kept and controlled.
Look to the owner when it misbehaves.

My current pet is puppy minded.

Our little mini-daxie called Smew is as small as our cats, can 'do' cat-flaps, loves swimming and running along the foreshore and makes our lives more fun because of her presence.

She does bark when the callers knock on the door, but she feels that to be her job.

If you knew her you wouldn't want to kill her. Honest.

Oh shoot, we do far worse. As of yet I haven't seen dogs discriminate against each other or hate each other depending on their color or the kind of sex they have, whatever they believe, or go so far as to section themselves off by absurd invisible lines and wage wars against each other and kill each other over those things and property and more.

I mean, let's face it, in the loud and obnoxious and rude and violent categories, we have dogs and pretty much any other animal on the face of the planet beat by miles. Who the hell are we to judge any animal?

Our little dachshund, named "Southern Belle"(we call her Belle for short), matches your description. She is really a bit of a pistol. But we love her. And keep her on a leash outside at all times.

She was a bit off last evening. This morning she didn't even want to go for her usual morning constitutional/poop party.

She'd better be well by this evening. If I tell her real daddy, my partner Doug, that some guy on the internet is praying to Jesus or burning black candles or something and that's why Belle just died HE WILL TRACK YOU DOWN AND MAKE YOUR LAST FEW MOMENTS EXCRUCIATINGLY PAINFUL.

It would be much better for this planet if humans die. We've been killing off so many other species since we've arrived here. Dogs are more worthy of life than the vast majority of humans.
