I wish I could find a church with a open pulpit. I believe all of as born again christians have a right to preach the Gospel. There too much time be limited as how long were in church. We should obey the spirit of God and let his will be done in the service.

In the Jehovah's Witnesses, as far as I know (I am not a JW)they do not have preachers and members take turns teaching the congregation.

I think both LDS and Unitarians have open pulpit. But that probably won't help a born-again. :)

In most churches, everyone has a job that they are called to do. The preacher is the one who is called to speak to and on behalf of the church, and to proclaim the gospel in a more formal forum.

You are right. But the pulpit is not open. It is not allowed to teach anything that the governing body has not first accepted and approved for teaching and only men, who are called brothers, are allowed at the lecturn. So a person who believes he has heard from The Holy Spirit is not allowed to preach to the Jehovah's Witnesses.

Thank you. I learn something new everyday. :)

actually we are all preachers... everyone.

And everyone is a public teacher. And all baptized brothers are teachers within the Congregational arrangement.

And every baptized sister is a teacher outside the congregation.

I believe my experience is that God exalts who he wishes. I have had churches where I was invited to preach and churches where I was not. If God wants me to preach in a church I am sure He will find a way to do it. So my advice to you is to go where Jesus wants you to go and do what jesus allows you to do.

I believe that is just a matter of the blind leading the blind. I believe it is much better to be led by spirit filled man than to think my spirituality is so great that everyone needs it.

I don't remember anyone ever sayin they were called to be a preacher but Jesus does comand all of us to preach the Gospel. My calling is to go into all the world but right now that is limited to the internet.
