A reccent ICM survey in which a sample of British Muslims who considered themselves Moderate shown that....

4 in 10 want Sharia Law in areas of the UK populated largely by Muslims

and

1 in 5 said they can sympathize with the motives of the 7th July suicide bombers in London.

2 Million muslims in the UK, lets just hope the sample wasn't a very accurate one.

I love statistics. I can make them say anything I want.

Without knowing more details about the survey, the results are nearly meaningless.

How large was the sample size? How did they select their sample size? Most importantly, how did they word the questions?

It's my understanding that a large portion of UK muslims are recent immigrants. Immigrants typically live in low-income neighborhoods. Low-income neighborhoods are almost always high-crime neighborhoods.

If your flat gets burglarized every other week and you fear for your life walking to the corner store, Sharia laws might be slightly preferable.

I don't care if 90% of muslims agree with the terrorists motives, but I would be terrified if even 1% agreed with the terrorists means. It's the means that make the difference between a peaceful activist and a homicidal terrorist.

I certainly do care. The motives were to kill and injure innocent peaceful and anyone who thinks this is right doesn't belong in civilised society.
