If a person claiming to be Christ comes today, how do you know it is really *not* him?

I personally think that William Miller was wrong in adding the 2300 years to the year the decree went out to rebuild Jerusalem. And the problem I have with Baha'is using the 1260 days in Revelation and making them years is that there are at least six times they find things that they can make to mean 1260 years. And each event starts and stops at different times. None of them last from day one, the year of the Hegira in 621 AD to 1844.

The 1,260 days is the time from the rapture of a remnant of the total number of God's saints called "man-child" to
the end of the great tribulation.

It is the same as you might know as 42 months that Antichrist and his Gentile followers trample the holy city Jerusalem.
And the court which is outside the temple cast out and do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months. (Rev. 11:2)

It is identical with the span of time two witnesses give a special testimony during the great tribulation.
And I will cause My two witnesses to prophesy a thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth. (Rev. 11:3)

It is also the time in which the persecuted Christians and Jews are under the harrassment of the Antichrist.
And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place there prepared by God so that they might nourish her there a thousand two hundred and sixty days. (Rev. 12:6)

It is the same as the duration of time Antichrist acts blasphemously against all people of monotheistic faith.
And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and authority was given to him to act for forty-two months. (Rev. 13:5)

And it the same as the 3.5 years from the time Antichrist breaks his covenant with Israel and persecutes all that is called God, particularly Judaism
and the saints left on earth for the duration of the great tribulation. It is described as "a time and times and half a time" (a year + two years + half a year)
And to the woman there were given the two wings of the great eagle that she might fly into the wilderness into her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time from the face of the serpent. (Rev. 12:14)

It is the same as the "short time" that Satan pulls out all the stops for a final usurp God's authority over the world.
Woe to the earth and the sea because the devil has come down to you and has great rage, knowing that he has only a short time. (Rev. 12:12b)
