Faith-confidence in what we hope for (Hebrews 11)
Animals and plant life also have genetic mutations and are "sin" free. So why can't we just say it is a cause and effect not necessarily explainable. Some are explainable, though, and appear to be an evolutionary phenomenon.
I will say that it is possible that atmospheric pollution or outside conditions could change the mutant variability of plants and animals. For instance, it has been said that infants can recognize the voice of its mother once it is born. And children born of alcoholics or addicts are seriously affected. Genes and Addiction.

Except the ability to understand good and bad, thus being easily tempted to break the rules.
Yet God still caused the mechanisms that eventually evolved into defects and fatal diseases. So you can't excuse God in any way.
Just as God created.
Yet we see believers of all stripes act immorally, and disagree with each other what good and moral is. They even fight amongst themselves over the truth. A God doesn;t seem interested in setting things right.
Except when a child is diagnosed with a fatal disease like Leukemia.
What did God do to all the slave traders from the 16th century until liberalism decided it was immoral in the 19th century?
Why the wait? Why didn't God solve the problems when he recognized he made mistakes in his creation?
There always is after massive wars.
We always seem to be healing. When will humans be healed and can carry on with life? Why did God create things so sick?
I read nothing sick about the created paradisical Garden of Eden.
If Adam stepped on a bug then Adam did know what death is - Gen. 2:17
Satan not only challenged Job (Job 2:4-5) but includes all of us.
'Touch our flesh....' - 'loose physical health' and we would Not serve God under adverse conditions.
If God would have Not let Adam and Eve have children we simply would Not be here - Genesis 1:28
The passing of time has allowed for all of us to be born and think who we would want as Sovereign over us.
ALL wars will end - Psalm 46:9; Isaiah 2:4; Micah 4:3-4
We are all invited to pray to God for Jesus to come ! - Rev. 22:20
Come and bring permanent healing, permanent good health on Earth - Isaiah 33:24 See chapter 35 of Isaiah
Come and end enemy death on Earth - 1st Corinthians 15:24-26; Isaiah 25:8

I figure that's what happened. It can't be tested. Their genes were altered because from then after they would die.
Seems as if something was altered according to Genesis 3:7 B; 3:21 ( a guilty sin-stricken conscious )
Adam and Eve ' felt shame ' being aware they broke God's Law

Then why did God allow genetic drift/mutation?
If God was the perfect designer, then why does God allow the design to be altered?
Especially since this can cause disease and deformity?

Here are some disorders cause by genetic mutation:

Down syndrome
Diabetes
Cystic fibrosis
Spina Bifida

And many other negative conditions caused by alterations in God's design.
I bellieve God usus it to punish the sinful in some cases and in others it is a learning experience.

I believe that according to the biblical scriptures, God’s design was good without imperfections, but SIN has corrupted everything on this planet, including genetics. God allows humanity to see the consequences and damage of sin. He is calling everyone who wants to be free of sin to a new eternal heaven and earth through the Savior, Jesus Christ.
I believe our new bodies won't have any imperfections.

My favorite disorders in this question are narcissistic personality disorder, psychopathy, and pathological liars. Look at the world we live in ... thanks "GOD."

My favorite non-disorder are neurotypical people who that their own individual subjectivity as the general norm.

So what is the purpose or the point of it existing at all? There is none.

Except that without rock existing you would be floating in space without atmosphere to breath because the mass if rock / gravity would also not exist to hold atmosphere and make s useful.

So really, yes, plenty of point

As usual, if you look at history, you'll find these above disorders as a part of the "control" we have been dealing with for millennia. Simply put, everything was about THEM, they lived a really nice life (of course) while the common people lived in the dirt.

Research, according to Bar Yosef, goes way back:
Thus to evaluate the evidence of political hierarchy and economic
inequality prior to farming in southwestern Asia we focus on Natufian sites
prior to 14,700 BP.

There was an attempt to end all this ... but, historically, it failed.
On a certain day 9200 years ago the manorial houses at the north side
of the large square in Çayönü were burnt down, and this happened so fast
that the owners were not able to save any of their treasures (Davis 1998:
259/2, 260/2).

When Sumer and Egypt arrived, what I call phase 2 of the "antisocial" control aspect began, and it's been going on ever since. Control began with religion, and the next step was "government."

Recent excavations in the elite cemetery HK6 at Hierakonpolis have
revealed two extensive wood-built mortuary compounds dating to the
beginning of the Naqada II period
[roughly 3600ish BC]. These are not
only the earliest evidence for above-ground architecture in a
predynastic cemetery, but also indications that complex socialand
religious arrangements were already in place at this early time, with
strong leaders able to marshal labor and exotic resources to express
their authority in a variety of ways.

This points back to the original question: "Then why did God allow genetic drift/mutation?"
"GOD" wasn't involved in this. Let's just say - this intelligent life picture is coming in from somewhere else. The intelligence behind it - wasn't too "intelligent" it seems. Who was it? Ever notice that all "intelligent life" (here and "up there") may look different, but, are all BIPEDAL? Head with a brain on shoulders with two arms, a body, and walks on two legs with feet. Sounds like genetic manipulation to me.

childbirth, the most natural event in life, experienced by every female in the animal kingdom without the slightest indication of pain or complaint.
Is that so?
Evidence appears to disagree...

If we take the above statement, we today have an unexplained subject we call the UFO / ET subject. Information that's out there traces sightings back to the 1800s:

What we call ancient UFO art goes back further (I like the fourth painting - I wonder what that man is looking at):

If we could trace these confused "sightings" back to around the dating in the post above, in and around 13,000 BC, the time religious control began, there's a question that pops up: "Gee, I wonder where polytheism came from?" You know - polytheism - the "gods in the sky."

By the time writing began, polytheism was well embedded in the minds of humans. If we trace the history towards today, and we get to the mid-1300s, Akhenaton's "doctrinal change" from polytheism to what I call proto-monotheism begins. It goes on from there with changes like monalatry and henotheism, goes through the Zoroastrians, reaches the Hebrews, and from there goes all the way to today.

It seems (as usual) that everything we think we know about "GOD" just may have a traceable interpretational picture over the last 15,000 years. This doesn't negate the so-called "spiritual realm" ... there's information that supports it, it just doesn't have (as usual) a really good explanation.

blame the satan. The satan is using people to stop God. For example, satan tells people that smoking is good, so people would hate God, if He would ban the smoking.
If you look at history ... "Satan" doesn't exist either. This "evil spiritual being" idea created a way for the controlling morons to keep their control by showing this spiritual leader wasn't connected to this "evil being." It still works today.
