If I were president, Bill Cosby

Even though this is suppose to humorous I think there might be some solid point made here. Which of these do you find, unrealistic, offensive, or think they may be a good idea.

1.) Press 1 for english is immediately banned, english is the official language, speak it or wait at the border until you can.

2.) Welfare checks will be handed out on Fridays at the end of the 40 hour school week, and successful urinalysis test and a passing grade.

3.) An immediate two year isolationist posture to straighten out the countries attitude, No import, no exports, we will use the wal-mart policy "If we ain't got it, you don't need it."

4.) Social security will return to its original state, if you didn't put nuttin in, you ain't getting nuttin out. The president and politicians will not be able to touch it.

5.) All foreign aid using American tax-payer money will immediately cease. Money will be used instead to pay off the national debt and will ultimately result in lower taxes. When disaster occurs anywhere in the world, we'll ask the people to donate to a disaster fund and each individual can make a decision whether it is a worthy cause and how much they should donate.

Sorry, NOT
Bill Cosby. As for the actual quotes: in particular #2: How many high school students do you think are receiving welfare? Or do you think that people receiving government assistance are all high-school drop outs, truants and drug users? How long do you think drug testing takes? #4: how many non-contributors to social security do you think there are? I know a number of folks who received social security benefits due to their parents disability status before they were old enough to work, these pay-outs were based on what their disabled parent had contributed prior to injury and helped to support the family, should these benefits be discontinued? What about housewives, they can be stay at home parents and never enter the job market (thus contributing NOTHING to Social Security) yet they are eligible for support upon the death of their spouse, why don't we just cut them off as well, hmmm? #3 do you really think that the US is self sufficient? Like your electronics? How about car repairs? Blue berries? tomatoes in the winter?

To Save A Lamb
I don't even know where to begin...

1.) Press 1 for english is immediately banned, english is the official language, speak it or wait at the border until you can.
There is no "official language" of the United States.

2.) Welfare checks will be handed out on Fridays at the end of the 40 hour school week, and successful urinalysis test and a passing grade.
This doesn't even begin to make sense, while most welfare recipients are children, not all are. You might want to read this, Eight Great Myths About Welfare.

By the way....

Indeed, comparison of work morale and welfare state generosity in 13 countries in Europe, North America and Australasia shows that work morale is actually stronger in countries with more generous welfare states. Start reading on page 4 of this PDF.

3.) An immediate two year isolationist posture to straighten out the countries attitude, No import, no exports, we will use the wal-mart policy "If we ain't got it, you don't need it."
Where do you think Walmart gets all its crap? LOL

4.) Social security will return to its original state, if you didn't put nuttin in, you ain't getting nuttin out. The president and politicians will not be able to touch it.
Ah, yes, the good old days of social security when it benefited mostly only whites.

But people do need to realize that social security is not just reteriment benefits but things like Medicaid, SSI, and SCHIP? Should we put children and the disabled to labor in factories so they can "put somethin' in"?

5.) All foreign aid using American tax-payer money will immediately cease. Money will be used instead to pay off the national debt and will ultimately result in lower taxes. When disaster occurs anywhere in the world, we'll ask the people to donate to a disaster fund and each individual can make a decision whether it is a worthy cause and how much they should donate.
Humanitarian aid is a very difficult issue (as in if it's a form of neocolonialism, if it does more harm than good when it just goes to a corrupt third world dictator instead of the population who needs it, etc) but it would probably be too nuanced and complicated a topic for those with a "screw you I got mine!" mentality.

Bill Cosby.
Absolutely BILL COSBY

As for the actual quotes: in particular #2: How many high school students do you think are receiving welfare?
No one said high school students, the point is to collect welfare, IF YOU ARE NOT high school educated, the you must have that level of education, and random drug tests make sense, even pro football players have to do this.

Or do you think that people receiving government assistance are all high-school drop outs, truants and drug users?
Lets make sure they are NOT.
#3 do you really think that the US is self sufficient? Like your electronics? How about car repairs? Blue berries? tomatoes in the winter?
I think we can manufacture our own electronics. Since when do I have to go overseas to have my car repaired. Believe it or not, I think we could all get along just fine WITHOUT BLACKBERRIES!!! I know it might be a cultural shock but I think we can all survive. Is your life so dependent on TOMATOES?? Too funny.

.Maybe there should be!

The lets keep it that way.
Where do you think Walmart gets all its crap? LOL
It gets al its crap form cheap foreign labor, you see that as a good thing? Are we not able to manufacture our own CRAP!

Ah, yes, the good old days of social security when it benefited mostly only whites.
Oh Oh, I think I can see some paranoia slipping in, and may a hint of racism, I could be wrong!

But people do need to realize that social security is not just reteriment benefits but things like Medicaid, SSI, and SCHIP? Should we put children and the disabled to labor in factories so they can "put somethin' in"?
No one said anything about children, if your an adult, from a foreign country and have never worked, why should they receive welfare?

Humanitarian aid is a very difficult issue (as in if it's a form of neocolonialism, if it does more harm than good when it just goes to a corrupt third world dictator instead of the population who needs it, etc) but it would probably be too nuanced and complicated a topic for those with a "screw you I got mine!" mentality.
[/QUOTE]What is nuanced got to do with anything we are talking about, did you mean nuisance? if so then because its a nuisance and complicated we should still commit billions to help others, most of whom hate are guts, instead of taking care of our own country?
