Medical services are expensive because doctors understand the concept of business. You need a service, and they're qualified to give you that service. They understand that their talents are worth whatever the doctors say they are. Either meet their demands, or handle it yourself. If other workers took a page from their book, we wouldn't have so many complaints about earning a living wage.
So you see some unappreciative pinhead worth dying for? The Japanese actually have been dropping over dead literally from overwork, and some companies have responded my maxing worker hours to less hours than what alot of Americans work.Health care is expensive. No way it should be automatic. Many people live their whole life without health care. Going to the doctor all the time is bull crap.
Taking all the med's they want to put you on is crazy too.
Man up, work 12 hours a day and die young and not be a burden on society. Pay your own way in life and quit expecing others to foot the bill.
8 hours a day is like a part time job to me.

I'm sure there is some group out there advocating it. I use to think the $20 dollar an hour minimum was an absurd claim, and I was certain that no was actually demanding it, and I wondered where it came from here on RF because it was only the right-wing and Libertarian members mentioning it; then I learned of a low-wage worker union/advocacy group (that I can't for the life of me remember what they're called) that actually does demand ridiculously high wages for low wage jobs. One of their higher ups even said something about making fast-food wages middle-class wages (I get their concern, but if things ever get better no high schooler or even college student should be propped up that easily). It would not surprise me if by "all the time" that someone out there wants people to be able to literally go to the doctor all the time for any and all aches and pains.Who said GOING to the doctor ALL the time? What is ALL the time Rev??
What you are suggesting would actually lower our average life expectancy..(that would include INFANT mortality not just YOU dying in the next year or too since you are OLD already)...
So please clarify what do you mean "all the time" and should only the wealthy have affordable access to doctors and WHEN and how should it be proposed that laymen's not take med's their doctors prescribe????
Yes. As it is we have economically outlawed medicine for the middle and lower classes by requiring each doctor to know all about every aspect of medicine. 'Medicine' is a huge all encompassing field. Instead we could have, for instance, specialists in particular types of treatment and diagnosis who are not 'Doctors', allowing for more competitive wages. As it is we have made medical practice illegal unless it is expensive.Revoltingests said:I dunno about that. If the barriers to entry for docs were eased, it might cut the cost & provide more face time with docs. Quality can still be maintained, because brain power standards are not the only culling method for med students. The cost & hazing rituals also dissuade many qualified potential docs.
I hope a little advertising is OK here.....the Shovel Club is a cooperative which hasI guess some folks think living long enough to live in a nursing home is desirable. You have no rights, you cannot leave, they serve you crap food and let you lay in your own poop.
Personal honor & integrity, of course!Sounds great, Rev., but who will make sure that everyone follows the rules and keeps their 'End' of the deal?
