NO one likes a book burner. No one wants to really burn books.

But, if you just could, erase a book from history, which book would that be?

Maybe "The Prince", since I have reason to suspect that Maquiavel would share the desire (he seems to have meant it as satire).

I don't want to eliminate any books. But there are several that should come with a disclaimer: "WARNING: This book will make you stoopid."

Mein Kampf, Atlas Shrugged, The Bell Curve, Das Kapital (a few good ideas here and there, but not worth digging through the drivel), Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-Tung, The Fountainhead. The list is not exhaustive.

I'm tempted to say, Atlas Shrugged, but I have had too much fun laughing at the people who take it seriously. So, I'll go with Lord of the Rings. The trilogy never lived up to its promise.

I pretty much agree.

However, if I had to choose a book, it would be The Scarlett Letter. Good God, this book is so damn dull and, if it never existed in the history of literature, what would be different?

The Geek Inquisition will be at your door, pitchforks and torches in hand, any minute now.

None, honestly.

But maybe the Malleus Maleficarum for the sheer irony of it.

I thought about including that in my post bove, then decided against it, because nobody believes that anymore, right? Then I remembered a particular "Christian" apologist I ran across a few years ago, who was using it to argue against Wicca.

Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose

The God Delusion, 50 Shades of Grey, Atlas Shrugged(Ayn Rand was far from being an intellectual), or Thus Spoke Zarathustra.

Pitiful literature although I am going with Thus Spoke Zarathustra because it promotes false intellectualism.

My choice would have to be Dianetics by L. Ron Hubbard of Scientology fame. It is the only book I ever threw across the room while reading it. It landed next to the waste basket, where it sat for about a week. I'm also tempted to include the Qur'an, but I think too many people would be horribly offended.

That's because you're an SP and severely engrammed due to event 1. nothing that a bit of auditing wouldn't clear, the road to clear is yours' so long as you've got a spare $100K.
